アーセナルのイングランド代表GKアーロン・ラムズデールを襲ったトッテナムのファンが罪を認めたようだ。イギリス『BBC』が伝えた。事件は1月15日に行われた、プレミアリーグ第20節でトッテナムvsアーセナルのノースロンドン・ダービーで発生。トッテナムの本拠地、トッテナム・ホットスパー・スタジアムで行われた試合。アーセナルが0-2で勝利を収め、シーズンダブルを達成した。
試合終了直後、ラムズデールはドリンクボトルをゴール裏スタンド近くの看板のところまで取りに行ったが、ここでスタンドの前にやってきたトッテナムのサポーターがラムズデールの背中を蹴る事件が発生した。
この犯人は35歳のジョセフ・ワッツ。ロンドン警視庁により起訴されていたが、17日にアクスブリッジ治安判事裁判所に出頭し、暴行罪を認めたという。
さらに、試合中にピッチに4枚のコインを投げ込んでいたことも告白していたという。なお、犯人は当時ビールを6パイント(約3リットル)も飲んでいたという。

現在は9人、イングランドでプレーする日本人女子選手の増加傾向を英紙が注目「今後も続く可能性が高い」 イングランドのFA女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)には、現在9人の日本人選手が所属。アジア人プレーヤーが増加傾向にある理由を、イギリス『BBC』が探った。 マンチェスター・シティのMF長谷川唯を筆頭に、ウェストハムにはDF清水梨紗とMF林穂之香に加え、今季からはFW植木理子も在籍。リバプールではMF長野風花が主軸を担っている。 オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)得点王の実績が評価され、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドにはMF宮澤ひなたが加入。チェルシーにはローンバックでFW浜野まいかが復帰し、今冬にはレスター・シティへ宝田沙織と籾木結花が籍を移した。 なでしこジャパンが2011年ドイツ女子W杯で優勝、2012年にロンドン・オリンピックで銀メダルを獲得した直後にも、2013年にチェルシーへ永里優季(現:ヒューストン・ダッシュ/アメリカ)が、2014年にアーセナルへ大野忍(スペランツァ大阪監督)や近賀ゆかり(サンフレッチェ広島レジーナ)が加入と、イングランドでのプレーを選択する日本人が続いたが、現在は当時とは異なる風向きで、勢いも加速している。 WSLで頭角を現した最初のアジア人選手と言えば、チェルシーで6度のリーグ優勝を達成した韓国女子代表MFチ・ソヨン(2014-2022年5月)をおいて他にないが、『BBC』では、続く存在として長谷川を挙げ、増加傾向にある日本人選手を特集。スカウティングへの投資、テレビによる世界的な女子サッカー中継の増加、移籍市場での競争の激化など、いくつかの要因を挙げた。 「映像が得られるという点で、スカウティングリソースは劇的に増加した。我々には2人の素晴らしいアナリストもいて、間違いのない選手を特定するのに役立っている」と、宝田と籾木を獲得したレスターのウィリー・カーク監督の言葉を引用。ウェストハムのレハネ・スキナー監督は、国際大会を通じて植木の才能を買っていたと話す。 また、イングランド内における女子サッカーの地位が高まったことによる、待遇の変化にも注目。給与の向上や移籍市場の変化により、WSLが選手にとってより魅力的なものになったと伝えている。 各チームの監督ともに、日本人選手の良さに「規律や戦術理解度、技術の高さ」などを挙げる。『BBC』は「これらの要因により、アジア系の才能ある人材がイギリスに流入することになり、最近到着した選手たちの成功を考えると、この傾向は今後も続く可能性が高い」と結んでいるが、まさしくその通りになるだろう。 最後に、各指揮官によるコメントを掲載。日本人選手、特に自チーム所属の選手を大いに評価している点がユニークだ。 「(WSLでプレーする)日本人選手はどんどん増えてくるだろうし、その理由も分かるだろう。非常に規律があり、聞く耳を持っている。強度も高く、ゲームの理解度もとても高い。もちろん、個々の能力は異なる。(長谷川)唯は非常に知的でゲームの読み方は誰にも負けないだろうし、信じられないほどの才能があると思う」(マンチェスター・シティ/ガレス・テイラー監督) 「風花は試合を読む力が高く、本当に素晴らしいサッカー選手だ。彼女たちは戦術面において非常にクレバーで、技術的にもとても優れている。後方から組み立てるチームの多いWSLの現状において、"日本ブランド"は我々にとって助けになる」(リバプール/マット・ビアード監督) 「日本人選手が増えた理由は明白です。戦術的に聡明で、技術的にも才能のある選手を望まない人はいないでしょう?彼女たちは私たちのチームに大きな価値をもたらしてくれました」(ウェストハム/レハネ・スキナー監督) 「必ずしもアジアの選手を探していたわけではなく、トップクラスのナンバー6を探していたら宝田を見つけたんだ。半年ほど注視して、夏に獲得しようとしたが、リンシェーピングとの合意に至らなかったから、(それなら満了後にと)事前契約を行った。チャンピオンズリーグのアーセナル戦は素晴らしかった」 「宝田選手をさらに見ていたら、籾木の良さにも気付いて、これは良い機会だと思ったんだ。2人とも素晴らしい才能のある選手だよ」(レスター・シティ/ウィリー・カーク監督) 2024.02.12 21:57 Mon

ヴェンゲル、スアレスへの“4000万1ポンド”オファーを反省 「馬鹿げていた…」
2018年までアーセナルで長期政権を築いたアーセン・ヴェンゲル氏が、リバプールから 引き抜きを狙ったウルグアイ代表FWルイス・スアレスに関するエピソードについて語った。イギリス『ミラー』などが伝えている。 今夏にバルセロナからアトレティコ・マドリーに移籍したスアレスは、2011年1月から2014年7月までリバプールに所属。公式戦133試合に出場し82得点を記録するなど、絶対的なエースとして君臨していた。 そのリバプールのエースの獲得に向け、アーセナルが動いたのが2013年の夏。 当時、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)から遠ざかるなど、低迷が続いていたクラブからの退団の意思を示していたスアレスに関して、ヴェンゲル氏はCL出場権を切り札のひとつとして獲得が可能と踏んでいた。ただ、同じプレミアリーグのライバルへの売却を望まないリバプールの徹底抗戦が予想されていた。 ただ、当時スアレスには4000万ポンド(約54億8000万円)の契約解除金が設定されていると報じられており、アーセナルはこの金額に1ポンド(約136円)を上乗せした“4000万1ポンド”のオファーを掲示し、エースの引き抜きを図った。 やや非常識ともいえるこのオファーは物議を醸し、リバプールのオーナーであるジョン・ヘンリー氏は自身の『ツイッター』で「彼らはエミレーツで何か(薬のようなものを)吸っているのか?」と呟くなど激高。また、実際に前述の契約解除条項は存在しておらず、リバプール側が交渉を拒否したこともあり、スアレス獲得は実現しなかった。 ただ、10月13日に販売が開始されたヴェンゲル氏の自叙伝『My Life in Red and White: My Autobiography』によると、同氏は契約解除条項が存在しないことを理解した上で前述のオファーを掲示していたという。そして、自身の振る舞いを反省している。 「2013-14シーズンにスアレスを獲得したいと思っていた。我々はプレーヤー本人、代理人と合意に達していた。そして、彼の代理人は4000万ポンド以上のオファーがあれば、リバプールは彼を手放さなければならない条項があると主張していた」 「しかし、リバプール内部の軽率な振る舞いのおかげで、そんな条項が存在しないということも理解していた。その事実を確かめるために、4000万1ポンドのオファーを出した。これについては、馬鹿げていると思われただろうし、私自身も同意する」 「リバプールはスアレスを売る気がなかったし、彼らにはプレーヤーを残すだけの(金銭的)余裕があった。さらに、既にバルセロナからのオファーが差し迫っていた」 リバプールはアーセナルからのオファーを拒絶した1年後に、スアレスをバルセロナに6500万ポンド(約89億円)で売却している。ヴェンゲル氏からすると、交渉上の駆け引きのつもりだったと思われるが、ビッグネームの獲得を逃しただけでなく、相手方にばらされてひんしゅくまで買う苦い経験だったようだ。 2020.10.15 17:03 Thu
