マンチェスター・ユナイテッドは13日、バーンリーのオランダ代表FWワウト・ヴェグホルスト(30)をレンタル移籍で獲得したことを発表した。レンタル期間は2023年6月までとなる。ヴェグホルストは母国のヴィレムⅡの下部組織育ちで、エメンでプロ入り。ヘラクレス、AZでプレーしたのち、2018年7月にヴォルフスブルクへ完全移籍する。
ヴォルフスブルクでは公式戦144試合で70ゴール22アシストを記録すると、2022年1月にバーンリーへと完全移籍。バーンリーでは20試合で2ゴール3アシストと苦しみ、2022年7月からベシクタシュへとレンタル移籍していた。
今シーズンはスュペル・リグで16試合に出場し8ゴール4アシストを記録すると、オランダ代表としてカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)にも出場。4試合に出場し、準々決勝のアルゼンチン代表戦で2ゴールを記録していた。
ヴェグホルストはクラブを通じてコメントしている。

元ユナイテッドSDがFAに復帰…新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任
元マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのスポーツディレクター(SD)、ダン・アシュワース氏が、イングランドサッカー協会(FA)に復帰することになった。 FAは14日、アシュワース氏が新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任すると発表。同職ではイングランド代表の男女チームと緊密に連携していくことになるという。 昨年12月にユナイテッドのSDをわずか5カ月で退任したアシュワース氏。それ以前にはブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオン、ニューカッスルで手腕を発揮しており、国内外のクラブからのオファーも想定されていたが、2018年まで6年間に渡って勤務していたFAに復帰することになった。 アシュワース氏は、セント・ジョージズ・パークの再開発を監督し、2028年に開催されるユーロ2028の共催に向け、競技施設とピッチの改善を目指す。 さらに、この新役職は、男子フットボールのテクニカルディレクターであるジョン・マクダーモット氏と緊密に連携するとともに、FAの最高経営責任者(CEO)であるマーク・ブリンガム氏とも連携する。 また、イングランド国内の地元出身のコーチの育成にも携わる予定だという。 2025.05.15 16:30 Thu

「高価な食べ物はない」ギネス記録樹立、C・ロナウドのあの肉体の秘訣を専属シェフが明かす

「絶対に謝らない」ハーランド父に復讐したロイ・キーンが“報復”タックルを否定
