ビラのエメリ監督、アーセナル時代の教え子ゲンドゥージ獲得を求む?

アストン・ビラが、マルセイユのフランス代表MFマテオ・ゲンドゥージ(23)に興味を持っているようだ。フランス『レキップ』が報じている。

2018年夏からアーセナルに在籍し、プレミアリーグでプレーしていたゲンドゥージ。だが、2020年6月のブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオン戦でFWニール・モペイと小競り合いを起こし、ミケル・アルテタ監督の逆鱗に触れてことをきっかけに出番がなくなり、同年10月からヘルタ・ベルリンへレンタルで放出されることに。

2021年夏からはマルセイユにレンタルし、昨夏に完全移籍。3年ぶりに戻った母国では主力として活躍しており、今季もここまで公式戦22試合に出場し、3ゴール3アシスト。カタール・ワールドカップのフランス代表にも選ばれた。

そんなゲンドゥージに、同選手がアーセナル1年目に師事したウナイ・エメリ監督が興味。昨年10月にビラ指揮官に就任するも、なかなか調子を上げられない中、かつての弟子の力を借りようと考えているようだ。

ただし『レキップ』は、ゲンドゥージのマルセイユでの立場を指摘し、ビラにとって難しいオペレーションになると予想している。
