日本代表がドレッシングルームに残した折り鶴に注目が集まっている。日本は5日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)のラウンド16でクロアチア代表と対戦した。
前回大会準優勝のクロアチアを相手に前田大然のゴールで先制した日本だったが、イバン・ペリシッチのヘディングで追い付かれると、90分、延長戦でも決着はつかず。PK戦では相手GKに3本をストップされ、史上初のベスト8進出とはならなかった。
失意の中でカタールを去ることになった日本。だが、悔しい思いをした後であっても、しっかりとドレッシングルームは整頓され、いつものように折り紙で作られた鶴と「ありがとう」とアラビア語と日本語で書かれた手紙が置かれた。

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン

「まさかの笑」「アジア進出」ラフプレー続出の北朝鮮撃破、U-22日本代表が見せた「ひき肉です」パフォーマンスが話題に「気持ち良すぎ!」
