「最も好きな瞬間の1つ」史上初の快挙を成し遂げたクロアチアGK、日本代表に言及「素晴らしいプレスだった」

クロアチア代表の守護神であるGKドミニク・リヴァコビッチが、日本代表戦を振り返った。クロアチア『HRT』が伝えた。

5日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)ラウンド16でクロアチアは日本と対戦。4年前に準優勝に終わった悔しさを晴らすべく、日本との一戦に臨んだ。

試合は、立ち上がりに日本が攻め込むと、43分に失点。リードを許した状態で後半を迎えるが、55分にイバン・ペリシッチがヘディングシュートを決めて同点とする。

クロアチアは試合を支配しながらも、時折日本の反撃を受ける展開に。それでもゴールを許さずに延長戦に突入すると、30分間でゴールが生まれず、PK戦に突入した。

するとリヴァコビッチが躍動。日本の2本のシュートをセーブして優位に進めると、4人目のシュートもセーブ。結果、1-3で勝利し、ベスト8に進出した。

この試合のプレーヤー・オブ・ザ・マッチに選ばれたリヴァコビッチが試合を振り返って喜びを露わにした。

「キャリアの中で最も美しい瞬間だ。主にチームメイトのおかげで、雰囲気は素晴らしい。僕たちをサポートするために集まったファンにも感謝する」

また、日本についても言及。プレスを称えた一方で、自分達も準備ができていたと語った。

「彼らは最初から本当に素晴らしいプレスをかけてきた。彼らはとても準備ができていたようだが、僕たちも同じだ」

「120分間の難しい戦いをし、最も難しい試合で勝った」

リヴァコビッチは、W杯のPK戦で最初の2本のシュートをセーブした初めてのGKになったという。

PK戦についてもコメントし、「最高の気分だ。僕のキャリアの中でも、最も好きな瞬間の1つだ」と喜びを語理、PK戦も準備していたとした。

「この試合は僕たちがどんなチームであるか、どんな結束力があるかを示した」

「PKは宝くじのようなものだという人もいる。でもトレーニングでPKの練習をしていたんだ」

見事にPK戦を制したクロアチアはベスト8に進出。準々決勝でブラジル代表と対戦する。
