アメリカは、イラン代表と対戦。勝った方が決勝トーナメントに進出できるという状況の中、38分にプリシッチがゴールしアメリカが先制。その後はこの1点を守り切り、アメリカがベスト16に駒を進めた。
しかし、プリシッチはゴールの際にイラン代表のGKアリレザ・ベイランヴァンドと激突。これにより前半のみでピッチを後にし、病院へと搬送されていた。
試合後、自身のSNSを更新。「みんなをめちゃくちゃ誇りに思う。僕は土曜日に向けて準備するつもりだ。心配しないでくれ」と投稿。ベッドに寝ながらもガッツポーズする姿が話題となっている。

吐く息は真っ白、-19℃の過酷環境でW杯予選が開催! 選手たちも寒すぎて防寒対策

女子選手の意見を参考に配慮し白パンツを中止、ナイキが女子W杯出場13カ国の新ユニフォームを発表!
