イングランド代表は、マンチェスターシティのDFカイル・ウォーカーと、レスター・シティのFWジェームズ・マディソンを欠いてイラン代表戦に臨むこととなった。イギリス『スカイ・スポーツ』が伝えている。

21日行われるカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)グループC第1節でイランと対戦するイングランド。近年は若手の台頭が著しく、昨夏開催のユーロ2020では準優勝を果たした強豪が、56年ぶりの大会制覇に挑む。

しかし、初戦を前に問題となっているのが負傷を抱える2人の選手。そ径部の手術明けで、コンディションに不安を抱えるウォーカーと、開幕直前にヒザのケガを負ったマディソンだ。
ガレス・サウスゲイト監督は、イラン戦前の会見で両選手の欠場を明言。ウォーカーは順調な回復を見せていると説明しつつも、マディソンに関しては未だにトレーニングに参加できていないと語った。

「カイル・ウォーカーはこの試合には少し間に合わないが、とても良い回復を見せている。現時点では想定を超えたステージにいる」
「ジェームズは到着してから練習できていないので、明日の試合には間に合わないだろう」

イングランドで70キャップを数えるウォーカーは、約10年間にわたってチームの主力右サイドバックとしてプレー。一方、マディソンはデビュー戦となった2019年11月のモンテネグロ代表戦のみでしかプレー経験がないものの、サプライズでの今大会メンバー入りとなっていた。

元ユナイテッドSDがFAに復帰…新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任

元マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのスポーツディレクター(SD)、ダン・アシュワース氏が、イングランドサッカー協会(FA)に復帰することになった。 FAは14日、アシュワース氏が新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任すると発表。同職ではイングランド代表の男女チームと緊密に連携していくことになるという。 昨年12月にユナイテッドのSDをわずか5カ月で退任したアシュワース氏。それ以前にはブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオン、ニューカッスルで手腕を発揮しており、国内外のクラブからのオファーも想定されていたが、2018年まで6年間に渡って勤務していたFAに復帰することになった。 アシュワース氏は、セント・ジョージズ・パークの再開発を監督し、2028年に開催されるユーロ2028の共催に向け、競技施設とピッチの改善を目指す。 さらに、この新役職は、男子フットボールのテクニカルディレクターであるジョン・マクダーモット氏と緊密に連携するとともに、FAの最高経営責任者(CEO)であるマーク・ブリンガム氏とも連携する。 また、イングランド国内の地元出身のコーチの育成にも携わる予定だという。 2025.05.15 16:30 Thu

8歳から親友コンビのライス&マウントが代表でゴール共演! 「同じ試合でゴールを決められるなんて…」

ウェストハムMFデクラン・ライスとチェルシーMFメイソン・マウントの親友コンビが憧れのスリーライオンズで夢のようなゴール共演を果たした。 イングランド代表は18日、UEFAネーションズリーグ2020-21リーグA・グループ2最終節でアイスランド代表と対戦し、4-0で快勝した。 そして、同試合では前半の20分にMFフィル・フォーデンのFKに頭で合わせたライスが待望の代表初ゴールを挙げると、その4分後にはセットプレーの二次攻撃からマウントが代表通算3ゴール目を奪取。主役の座は2ゴール1アシストのフォーデンに譲ることになったが、ライスとマウントの2人にとっては子供の頃の夢を叶えた最高の試合となった。 共にロンドン生まれ、チェルシーのアカデミー育ちの両選手は8歳の頃からの親友で、14歳の時にライスが放出の憂き目に遭った際にはマウントの母親が涙を流すなど、家族ぐるみの付き合いをしてきた。 その後、マウントが順調にチェルシーで活躍を続ける一方、ライスは新天地ウェストハムでブレイクを果たし、両者はプレミアリーグでは良きライバル、イングランド代表では中盤の相棒として切磋琢磨を続けている。 そして、このアイスランド戦ではついに同じ試合でゴールを挙げるという、まるで夢のような瞬間を共有することになった。 同試合後、殊勲のライスとマウントはイギリス『スカイ・スポーツ』のポストマッチインタビューで、ゴール共演を振り返っている。 まずはライスが、「中盤で一緒にプレーできることを知った時、それ自体が特別な瞬間だったよ。さらに、同じ試合でゴールを決められるなんて信じられないことだよ」と、素直な感動を伝えた。 一方、マウントは親友とのゴール共演を喜びながらも、新型コロナウィルスの影響により、無観客開催が続く中、相棒と自身を支えてきた互いの家族がスタジアムで同じ喜びを共有できなかったことを残念に感じている。 「もしもファンの入場が許可されていれば、彼ら(両家族)は一緒に見守ってくれていたはずさ。彼らは僕がデビューした時も一緒にいたし、デク(ライス)と初めて一緒にプレーした時もね。僕らは彼らと共に特別な思い出を共有してきたからね」 「僕らは小さい頃から親友だし、これからもより多くの素晴らしい思い出を作っていけたら最高だね」 なお、ハマーズで守備的MFとセンターバックで印象的な活躍を続けるライスにはフランク・ランパード監督が以前から熱視線を注いでおり、今冬、あるいは来夏にはチェルシーでの親友コンビの共演も期待されている。 2020.11.19 18:05 Thu

サッカーにおいての花形ポジションとされるのは、やはりストライカー。チームを勝利に導くその姿に憧れる子供は少なくなく、幼少期には誰もがゴールを奪いたい気持ちでプレーしたはずだ。 プロの世界になれば、それぞれのポジションにスペシャリストがおり、子供たちの憧れの的になる選手は様々。それでも、やはり目に見える結果が残せるFWの人気は高いだろう。 どの時代においても、わかりやすくスターになれるストライカーたち。しかし、FWでプレーしない選手でも数多くのゴールを決められることを証明した究極の選手がいる。それが、元イングランド代表のフランク・ランパードだ。 <span class="paragraph-title">◆IQ150以上の天才MF</span> ランパードのイメージは、やはりチェルシーだろう。2001年から2014年まで在籍し、中盤に君臨。ほとんどの試合でプレーする姿は、“鉄人”と呼ばれていた。 また、“ランプス”と呼ばれて愛されたランパードは、ロマン・アブラモビッチ氏がクラブを買収し、ジョゼ・モウリーニョ監督を迎えて急激に力をつけたチームにおいて、軸となって支えた1人として記憶に残っていることだろう。ランパード無くして、チェルシーの飛躍はなかったと言っても過言ではない。 しかし、ランパードのルーツは同じロンドンでもウェストハムにある。父は元イングランド代表DFのフランク・ランパード・シニア、伯父には監督として多くのクラブを率いたハリー・レドナップ氏を持ち、サッカー一家で育つ。 家庭は裕福であり、ランパードは運動能力に長けるだけでなく、学力も優れており、IQは150を超える天才。育ちもよく、恵まれた環境で能力も高いという、正にエリート街道を歩む選手だった。 そのランパードがプロ生活を始めたのがウェストハム。頭角を現し、イングランド代表としてもプレーする一方で、伯父が監督、父がコーチを務めていたことで、結果が出なければ非難を浴びることも多々あった。 また、イングランド代表にも早くに選ばれながら、なかなかブレイクせず。その流れもあり、環境変化を求めて移籍したチェルシーで、チームに欠かせない選手に一気に成長。クラブ、そしてイングランド代表にとっての柱となった。 <span class="paragraph-title">◆チェルシーと共に花開く</span> <div class="dugout-video dugout-embed-eyJrZXkiOiI2T0tmR0VNTiIsInAiOiJ1bHRyYXNvY2NlciIsInBsIjoiIn0="></div><script type="text/javascript" src="https://embed.dugout.com/v3.1/ultrasoccer.js"></script> キャリアを始めたウェストハムでも高い能力が認められていたランパード。世代別のイングランド代表に選ばれると、1999年10月10日にイングランド代表デビューを果たす。 しかし、ランパードの代表でのキャリアは順調にはいかない。デビュー後は、出番どころか招集もされず。2001年に入り再び代表に招集されるようになり、日韓ワールドカップ(W杯)の前にはコンスタントに招集を受けるが、最終的にはW杯出場を逃すことに。その後も、しばらく代表からは外れていった。 ランパードがイングランド代表に定着したのは2003年5月以降。チェルシーに移籍して2シーズン目の終わり頃。チームとしても変革を遂げる少し前にポジションを掴んでいく。 そのランパードは定着を果たすと、ユーロ2004ではレギュラーとしてプレー。大会3ゴールを挙げて、ベスト11に選ばれることに。その後のドイツW杯予選では5ゴールを挙げるなど、イングランド代表のW杯出場に大きく貢献する。 その頃、チェルシーはモウリーニョ監督の下でプレミアリーグ制覇を達成し、ランパードとしても乗っている時期と重なっている。 イングランド代表としては2010年の南アフリカW杯、2014年のブラジルW杯にも出場。その後に引退を表明しているが、106試合で29ゴールを記録。歴代10位のゴール記録であり、攻撃的なポジションではない選手では最もゴールを決めている選手となっている。 <span class="paragraph-title">◆類稀なる得点力を備えたオールラウンダー</span> <div class="dugout-video dugout-embed-eyJrZXkiOiJvM2hRUGZHcyIsInAiOiJ1bHRyYXNvY2NlciIsInBsIjoiIn0="></div><script type="text/javascript" src="https://embed.dugout.com/v3.1/ultrasoccer.js"></script> そのランパードは、チェルシーでも当然輝きを放つ。2005年にはバロンドール、FIFA最優秀選手ともに全体の2位という栄誉を得る。なお、どちらも元ブラジル代表MFロナウジーニョが1位だった。 またクオリティの高いプレーもさることながら、愛称の“鉄人”が示す通り、プレミアリーグでは164試合連続出場記録を樹立。それまでは元イングランド代表GKデイビッド・ジェームズが保持していた記録であり、フィールドプレーヤーが達成するのは異例だった。 その後もチェルシーの中心選手として君臨し続けたランパード。プレミアリーグで3回、FAカップで4回、EFLカップで2回と国内で9つのタイトルを獲得。さらに、チャンピオンズリーグとヨーロッパリーグを1度ずつ制しており、クラブの黄金期を支えた。 それはタイトルのみならず、個人の成績でも大きく貢献。公式戦通算648試合に出場し211ゴール150アシストという大記録を樹立。出場数は同時期にプレーした生え抜きのDFジョン・テリーに次ぐ2位、ゴール数は名だたる名FWを差し置いてダントツの1位となっており、まさにクラブのレジェンドそのものとなっている。 しかし、成績とは裏腹に、あまり目立たないのがランパードの真骨頂と言えるだろう。同時期に同ポジションを争ったリバプールのMFスティーブン・ジェラードはスター選手として早くから扱われており、リバプールというクラブに出てきた期待の若手というのが大きな要因といえる。 一方で、選手としての能力だけで見れば、ランパードの方が優れているという声も多く、なんでもこなせるハイスペックなオールラウンダーとして評価。得点力、アシスト、さらには中盤でのタイトな守備や泥臭いプレーなど、全てにおいて高い能力を誇り、さらにはケガをほとんどしないことで愛されていた。 <div id="cws_ad"><hr>イングランド代表でも活躍し、チェルシーのレジェンドとして歴代最多ゴール数を誇るランパードが大人気スポーツ育成シミュレーションゲーム『プロサッカークラブをつくろう!ロード・トゥ・ワールド』(サカつくRTW)に登場!<br/><br/>盟友のDFジョン・テリーやMFスティーブン・ジェラードと共に現役時代に魅せたゴールが『サカつくRTW』でも再現。是非一度チェックしてみよう。</div> <a href="https://ryan.onelink.me/C7cD?pid=worldsoccer2110&c=worldsoccer2110&is_retargeting=true&af_inactivity_window=3d&af_dp=ryan.app%3A%2F%2F&af_web_dp=http%3A%2F%2Fsakatsuku-rtw.sega.com%2F" target="_blank"><div style="text-align:center;"><img src="https://image.ultra-soccer.jp/900/img/2021/sega20211013.jpg" style="max-width:100%;"></div></a> 2021.10.13 20:00 Wed
