チェルシーのDFリース・ジェームズが、ケガでカタール・ワールドカップのイングランド代表入りの可能性が断たれ、無念の思いを伝えている。

ここ数年でチェルシーの絶対的選手に成長し、カタールW杯に向けたイングランド代表入りも確実視されていたリース・ジェームズ。しかし、先月11日に行われたチャンピオンズリーグのミラン戦でヒザに全治8週間の大ケガを負ってしまった。

当初はメンバー入りに向けて諦めずリハビリを続けていたが、10日のメンバー発表を前にガレス・サウスゲイト監督から選考から外れたことを伝えられたようで、自身のツイッターを通じて悔しさを滲ませた。同時に、カタールに行く同胞たちにエールを送っている。

1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。アストン・ビラでは2シーズンでFA女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)で43試合に出場し7ゴール。スイス代表としても38キャップを記録している。 史上最高“究極”のオールラウンダー、フランク・ランパード
