契約期間は2027年夏までの5年間。イギリス『BBC』によると移籍金は850万ポンド(約14億円)の固定費に加え、250万ポンド(約4億1400万円)のアドオンがあるという。
リチャーズはFCダラスから2018年7月にバイエルンのU-18チームに加入。2020年7月にファーストチームに昇格した。
2021年2月からはホッフェンハイムへとレンタル移籍。2021-22シーズンも継続してレンタル移籍していた。
バイエルンでは公式戦10試合に出場し1アシストを記録。ホッフェンハイムでは1シーズン半で公式戦33試合に出場し1ゴール2アシストを記録していた。
