マンチェスター・シティは5日、エンツォ・マレスカ氏(42)がアシスタントコーチに復帰したことを発表した。
シティでは2020年6月からジョゼップ・グアルディオラ監督の副官を務めていたフアン・マヌエル・リージョ氏(56)が、先月にアル・サッドの新監督就任のためクラブを退団。マレスカ氏の招聘に動いていた。そして、既報通りイタリア人指揮官がシチズンズに復帰した。
現役時代にWBAやユベントス、セビージャ、オリンピアコス、パレルモなどキャリア19年で4カ国11クラブを渡り歩いた同氏は、2017年6月にアスコリのアシスタントコーチとして指導者キャリアをスタート。その後、セビージャやウェストハムでアシスタントコーチを歴任し、2020年8月にマンチェスター・シティU-23の監督に就任した。
そのシーズンにプレミアリーグ2優勝に導くと、昨夏にセリエBのパレルモからの誘いを受け、初めてトップチームで指揮することに。だが、成績不振を理由にわずか3カ月で解任されてしまっていた。
そして、この度1年ぶりにシティに復帰したマレスカ氏。再び智将の下で働くことに意欲を示している。

グリーリッシュが“短すぎる”ソックスの理由を告白、バキバキのふくらはぎは「家系」

頭部同士が激しく激突、動けず12分間も治療…担架で運ばれたイングランド女子代表DFにはスタンドから拍手
