かつてコロンビア代表としても活躍したフレディ・リンコン氏が、交通事故により他界した。55歳だった。リンコン氏は11日にコロンビアのカリで交通事故に遭遇。午前4時30分頃にリンコン氏が運転する車が交差点に侵入しあっところ、横からきたバスと衝突。車には4人が同乗しており、5人とも負傷。またバスの運転手も負傷していた。
地元のインバナコ・クリニックに入院していたリンコン氏。運ばれた当初「深刻な状態」とクリニックが声明を出していたが、13日に他界したことを報告した。
「私たちの医療チームによるすべての努力にも関わらず、患者のフレディ・エウセビオ・リンコン・バレンシアは、本日2022年4月13日に亡くなりました」
「事故を深く悔やみ、家族、友人、信者に心からお悔やみを申し上げます」
リンコン氏は、コロンビアのクラブでプレーした他、パウメイラス、ナポリ、レアル・マドリー、コリンチャンス、サントス、クルゼイロと名門クラブでプレーを続けた。
コロンビア代表としても85試合に出場し17ゴールを記録。ワールドカップ(W杯)には、1990年のイタリア大会、1994年のアメリカ大会、1998年のフランス大会と3度出場。金髪アフロでも有名なカルロス・バルデラマと共にプレーし、10試合で1ゴール1アシストを記録しているコロンビアのレジェンドだ。

リンコン氏はこの交通事故で外傷性脳損傷という重傷を負って病院へ運ばれていた。集中治療室で治療が続けられていたが、非常に危険な状態のままであり、そのまま命を落とすこととなった。
リンコン氏は、コロンビアのクラブでプレーした他、パウメイラス、ナポリ、レアル・マドリー、コリンチャンス、サントス、クルゼイロと名門クラブでプレーを続けた。

アスプリージャが過去に乱闘のチラベルトの命救う! ヒットマンからの殺害申し出を阻止
かつてパルマやニューカッスルで活躍した元コロンビア代表FWファウスティーノ・アスプリージャ氏が、現役時代にピッチ上で乱闘騒ぎを起こした元パラグアイ代表GKのホセ・ルイス・チラベルト氏の命を水際で救っていたことを明かした。『ESPN』が伝えている。 アスプリージャ氏は12日、コロンビアのテレビ局『TelePacifico』のドキュメンタリー番組に出演した際、1998年フランス・ワールドカップ(W杯)南米予選のパラグアイ代表戦で起こしたチラベルト氏との乱闘騒ぎを回想。その乱闘騒ぎの後に、コロンビアのヒットマンからチラベルト氏の殺害の申し出を受け取っていたという、衝撃の事実を明かした。 アスプリージャ氏によると、2004年に国内の麻薬関連の銃撃戦で死亡したヒットマンは、前述の試合後にチラベルト氏の行動に怒りを見せたのか、アスプリージャ氏の滞在していたホテルに電話をかけてきて、チラベルト氏を殺害していいかとの申し出を行ってきたという。 これに対して、アスプリージャ氏は「なんてこと言うんだ! お前は狂っている!」と一喝。さらに、「お前がやろうとしている行為はコロンビアのサッカー界を破壊することになる。絶対にダメだ。ピッチ内で起こったことはピッチ内で終結させるべきなんだ」と、必死の説得を行ったという。 この結果、前述のヒットマンはアスプリージャ氏の必死の説得に応じてチラベルト氏の殺害という凶行に走ることはなかったという。 悪名高き麻薬王、パブロ・エスコバルの存在もあって南米屈指の麻薬輸出国として知られるコロンビアでは、以前にサッカー界と犯罪組織が強い結びつきがあり、1994年のアメリカW杯では同国敗退に繋がるオウンゴールを犯したDFアンドレス・エスコバルが帰国後に銃殺される悲劇にも見舞われていた。 2019.11.13 15:55 Wed
