セルティックは6日、スコティッシュ・プレミアシップ第25節でマザーウェルと対戦。前田はMF旗手怜央とともに先発出場した。

序盤から試合を支配したセルティックは、旗手のアシストもあり、前半の内に3-0とリードを大きく広げる。

ハーフタイムに旗手らがお役御免となると、左サイドから中央にポジションを移した前田が後半に躍動する。

59分には味方のハイプレスからこぼれたボールに反応し、相手GKをかわしてゴールネットを揺らすもこれは直前の味方のプレーがファウルを取られ、ゴールは取り消しに。それでも71分に正真正銘の追加点を奪う。

中盤でルーズボールを拾ったMFマット・オリリーのロングスルーパスに反応した前田がファーストタッチで持ち出すと、切り返しからボックス中へカットイン。倒れ込みながら左足で放ったシュートは相手DFベビス・ムガビに当たってディフレクトするも、高々と上がったボールはそのままゴールに吸い込まれた。

やや珍しいゴールには、ファンも「外したと思ったのに気が付いたら決まってた」、「どんな軌道だよ」、「大然の執念」、「通天閣ゴールだ」など驚きの声が寄せられている。それでも、前田が左足を振り抜いたからこそのゴール。まさに執念で奪ったゴールと言えるのではないだろうか。
