フランスサッカー連盟(FFF)のノエル・ル・グラエ会長が日本人差別問題で波紋を呼んでいるフランス代表FWウスマーヌ・デンベレとFWアントワーヌ・グリーズマンについて言及した。フランス『Foot Mercato』が伝えている。両選手はバルセロナの一員として2019年夏に来日した際に、ホテルの一室でPES(海外版のウイニングイレブン)をプレーしようと呼んだアジア人のスタッフに対し、人種差別を伴う侮辱的な発言したとされる動画が流出。5日に両選手がこの事実を認めてそれぞれSNSで謝罪していた。

しかし、デンベレは謝罪をしながらも、非を認めていないことから「言い訳だ」などと非難を浴びている状況に。さらに、6日にはバルセロナのスポンサーでもある楽天株式会社が声明を発表。「クラブに対し、正式に抗議するとともに、本件に関する見解を求めてまいります」とし、7日には株式会社コナミデジタルエンタテインメントが、グリーズマンとのアンバサダー契約解除を発表。ビジネス面でも大きな影響が出る事態となっていた。
ル・グラエ会長はフランス『ル・フィガロ』のインタビューに応対。その内容を『Foot Mercato』が伝えている。

「私はその話をされたが、そのビデオは見てはいなかった。これは2年前のことだ。相応しいことではない。アントワーヌ・グリーズマンを知っていれば心優しい青年だとわかる。ウスマーヌ・デンベレも同様だ」
「彼らは良心があり、オープンで献身的な選手だ。このビデオが与えるイメージからは数千マイルも離れている」

「彼らのことを思うと胸が痛くなる。恐らく私は彼らの元を訪れるだろう」

なぜその試合に? バルセロナFWデンベレが英2部のサンダーランド戦を現地観戦で話題に

「誰か説明してくれ」なぜ風船!? エンクンクのゴールパフォにファンも困惑「CLで最もユニークな1つ」

アンリが“神の手”ゴールの後に殺害予告を受けたことを告白「あのゴールは誇れないものだが…」
