なでしこジャパン、東京五輪前最後の対戦相手はオーストラリア女子代表に決定

日本サッカー協会(JFA)は25日、なでしこジャパンが東京オリンピック前に行われるMS&ADカップ2021でオーストラリア女子代表と対戦することを発表した。

7月21日に東京オリンピックの開幕を迎える女子サッカー。強化試合として、7月14日(水)に京都府のサンガスタジアム by KYOCERAでオーストラリア代表と対戦することが決定した。

試合は19時20分にキックオフを迎え、TBS系列にて全国生中継される。

オーストラリア女子代表も東京オリンピックに参加。グループGに入り、スウェーデン女子代表、アメリカ女子代表、ニュージーランド女子代表と対戦する。

これまでの対戦成績は、なでしこジャパンの9勝2分け5敗となっている。

高倉麻子監督は本番前の最後の相手が決まったことについてコメントしている。

「東京オリンピック前、最後の実戦の相手に、アジアの仲間でありライバルであるオーストラリアという素晴らしいチームが決まり、嬉しく思っています。2023年にニュージーランドとの FIFA女子ワールドカップ共催が決まっているオーストラリアは、自国開催の大会を盛り上げるためにも東京オリンピックで上位進出を狙っていると思います」

「グループステージで世界ランク上位のアメリカとスウェーデンという強豪国と戦うオーストラリアが、大会直前のこの一戦を非常に重要なものと位置づけていることは間違いありません」
