バイエルンは12日、女子チームにリヨンから日本代表MF熊谷紗希(30)が加入することを発表した。契約は来季から2年間となる。
北海道出身の熊谷は、高校女子サッカーの名門校である宮城県の常盤木学園高校に進学。2009年に浦和レッズレディースへ加入すると、デビューシーズンからリーグ戦全試合に出場し、リーグ優勝に貢献した。
2011年に行われたドイツ女子ワールドカップでの優勝を機にフランクフルトへ移籍しヨーロッパへ拠点を移すと、2013年に移籍したリヨンでは、リーグ戦で7回、カップ戦で6回、そして女子チャンピオンズリーグで5回の優勝を経験。公式戦235試合に出場し43ゴールを記録していた。
そして、契約満了につきリヨン退団が4月下旬に発表され、去就に関心が高まっていた中、新天地は女子ブンデスリーガで3度の優勝を数えるバイエルンに決まった。この発表に際し、熊谷はクラブ公式サイトを通じて喜びのコメントを残している。
「バイエルンでプレーできることを楽しみにしています。新しい挑戦を探していた中で、昨季のチャンピオンズリーグ準々決勝でバイエルンと対戦した時、凄い団結力を持った非常に良いチームだと感じました。それがバイエルンへの関心を持ったきっかけです」
