PSGの進歩を強調するネイマール「欧州最高のチームの一つとして尊敬されるようになった」

パリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)のブラジル代表FWネイマールが、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)での大一番に向けて気合いを入れている。クラブ公式サイトが伝えた。

これまでバルセロナ、バイエルンと欧州屈指のビッグクラブを次々と下し、CL準決勝まで進出を果たしたPSG。準決勝の対戦相手であるマンチェスター・シティは現在プレミアリーグを独走しており、EFLカップを制覇するなど絶好調を維持している。

しかし、試合前の会見に出席したネイマールは難しい試合になるとは認めつつ、決勝進出への自信を語った。

「この段階になれば、簡単な試合なんてない。マンチェスター・シティは素晴らしいチームであり、素晴らしい選手が揃っている。バイエルン戦と同じで難しい試合になるだろうね。それでも、僕らは十分な準備をしており、試合に勝つため全力を尽くす」

「精神的にも肉体的にも良い感じだ。先ほども言ったように、これからの試合に向けて準備は整っているよ。クラブの勝利とCL決勝進出のため、できる限りのことをしたいと思っている」

「異常な状況にもかかわらず、僕らは非常に良いシーズンを送っている。誰も個人のことなど考えていないし、皆がCLを勝ち取りたいと思っているんだ。このトロフィーをとれば記憶に残るだろうからね。僕らは緊密なチームであり、全員が一緒に勝ちたいと思っている」

また、ネイマールは移籍をしてからここまでで、PSGが大きく進歩してきたと強調。それを証明するためにも、CLで優勝したいと意気込んだ。

「僕がここに来てから、多くの変化を目の当たりにしてきた。ヨーロッパで最高のチームの一つであり、対戦相手からも尊敬されるようになったと思う。CLでは、2シーズン連続準決勝進出を果たしていて、クラブは進化し続けている。僕たちはチームがさらに進歩して、さらに多くのトロフィーを獲得できるよう努力し続けたい」
