元神戸ポドルスキ、アイスホッケー選手に転身か?! 地元クラブと約束

元ドイツ代表FWルーカス・ポドルスキが、アイスホッケー選手に転身する流れとなっているようだ。

バイエルンやアーセナル、インテルと行ったビッグクラブを渡り歩き、ヴィッセル神戸でもプレーしたことで日本人にも馴染みのあるポドルスキ。今シーズンはトルコのアンタルヤスポルに所属しており、ここまでリーグ戦8試合で2ゴールを挙げている。

その一方、元ドイツ代表FWは地元ケルンにあるケルナー・ハイエというプロアイスホッケークラブとある約束をしていたようだ。それは10万枚のヴァーチャルチケットを全て売り切った場合、将来的にポドルスキがクラブに加入するというもの。

ケルナー・ハイエは国内リーグでは8度の優勝を誇る強豪チームだが、新型コロナウイルスの影響で財政難に陥っている。その状況を打破するキャンペーンの一環として提案されたものだが、見事に10万枚のチケットは完売し、ポドルスキは約束通り、クラブへの参加が決まった。

「10万枚ものチケットが売れてハイエとしても本当に嬉しいよ。助けてくれたファンや企業に感謝を伝えたい。全てがもう少し落ち着いたら、クラブとどうするか話し合うよ。ハイエの選手になれることを楽しみにしているよ」

ポドルスキは昨年行われたある試合で、いわゆる始球式を務めるなどケルナー・ハイエとは深い関わりを持っていた。アイスホッケー界のスターで、現在はケルナー・ハイエに所属しているジョン・マツモト氏も加入を歓迎。自身が着用する背番号「10」を譲るとまでコメントしている。

フットボール界のスターがアイスホッケー選手に転身する例はこれが初めてではなく、昨年10月に元チェコ代表GKペトル・チェフ氏が、イギリスのギルフォード・フェニックスというチームに入団し、ゴールキーパーとしてプロデビューしていた。

「スペインより日本の方が長い」来日5年のイニエスタが8歳長男の誕生日を祝福!「お父さんにそっくり」

来日5年‥家族も2人増えたイニエスタの妻が改めて心境を綴る「この冒険を一緒に生き続けることは光栄です!」
