どれだけゴールを重ねている名選手でも、初めてのゴールは印象深いはず。今回の企画『FIRST GOALS』では、選手たちが各クラブで初めて決めたゴールを紹介していく。今回はガーナ代表FWジョルダン・アイェウがクリスタル・パレスで決めた最初のゴールだ。
2009年にマルセイユでプロキャリアをスタートさせたJ・アイェウは、2015年にアストン・ビラに加入し、プレミアデビュー。スウォンジーでのプレーを経て、2018年夏にクリスタル・パレスに移籍した。
スピードとパワーを兼ね備えたストライカーとして、プレミアリーグでも活躍を続けるJ・アイェウは、ここまでパレスで64試合11ゴールを記録しているが、その記念すべき初ゴールは、2019年1月2日に行われた、プレミアリーグ第21節のウォルバーハンプトン戦で決めたゴールだった。
0-0と拮抗した展開のまま終盤に入った83分、DFパトリック・ファン・アーンホルトからのシュート性のパスをゴール前で受けたアイェウは、柔らかいファーストタッチでボールを収めると、ゴール左にしっかりとシュートを決め、パレス初ゴールを記録した。

クリスタル・パレス、最古参DFジョエル・ウォードとの契約延長を発表
