リバプールに所属するドイツ人GKロリス・カリウス(26)は移籍を急いでいないようだ。イギリス『デイリー・メール』が報じた。カリウスは2016年にマインツからリバプールに移籍したが、2017-18シーズンのチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)決勝で2失点に絡む失態を犯して以降、キャリアが暗転。2018年からベシクタシュにレンタル移籍した。
そのベシクタシュに移ってから公式戦67試合の出場数を誇ったが、度々のイージーミスが散見されると、先月4日に契約解消で退団。2022年まで現行契約が残り、保有権を持つリバプール復帰を果たしている。
リバプールに残ってもブラジル代表GKアリソンが絶対的守護神としてそびえ立つため、さらなる移籍が指摘され、新天地としてヘルタ・ベルリンなどの名前が浮上しているカリウスだが、残留も考慮しているようだ。
「もちろん、移籍するなら、プレーできないとね。今よりも状況が酷くなるクラブに行くために、リバプールを去るのは意味がない」
「2番手だが、プレッシャーなんて全くなく、移籍の必要性も感じていない。リバプールでのトレーニングで前に進むことができる。イングランドで2ndGKとしてプレーしていれば、チャンスがあるのも知っている」
「今は世界最高のクラブにいて、タイトルを目指してプレーできる。毎日の練習でも最高レベルの選手が周りにいる。リバプールにいれば、良いポジションなのも十分に認識している。素晴らしい条件が揃っているんだ」
