3月4日に行われたFAカップ5回戦のノリッジ・シティ戦(PK戦の末トッテナムが敗戦)に出場したダイアーは、試合終了後に観客席で侮辱的な発言をした一部サポーターと弟パトリックが口論しているのをピッチから発見すると、スタンドへ。
警備員の制止に遭いながらも、暴言を発した人物に近づいたダイアーは｢彼は僕の兄弟だ｣と話しかけたという。
ダイアーの振る舞いについて調査を行ったFAは、以下のように声明を発表した。
｢エリック・ダイアーがFA規則E3に抵触した可能性があり調査を行った。2020年3月4日に行われたFAカップ5回戦のノリッジ戦後の彼の行動は脅迫的であり、不適切なものだった。ダイアーは5月8日までにこれについて回答しなければならない｣

ダイアーがW杯のアルコール販売禁止に言及「お酒がなくても楽しませて見せる」

デ・リフトが左ヒザを負傷…全治不明もしばしの離脱へ

「トッテナム」は禁止、「スパーズ」で…クラブが改めて通達、放送局からも「トッテナム」表記が消える
