チェルシー、下部組織出身の大器ライスの連れ戻しを画策か

チェルシーがウェストハムに所属するイングランド代表MFデクラン・ライス(21)に関心を示しているようだ。イギリス『スカイ・スポーツ』が伝えた。

チェルシー下部組織で、2014年にウェストハムアカデミーへ移籍したライス。2017-18シーズン途中からスタメンに定着すると、今シーズンもアンカーとしてここまでのプレミアリーグ全29試合にフル出場するなど、縁の下の力持ちとして、チームを支えている。

『スカイ・スポーツ』によれば、チェルシーは今冬にもU-21フランス代表MFブバカリ・スマレの獲得を目指すなど、守備的MFの補強を希望しており、今夏も同ポジションの補填として、ライスに関心を示しているという。

しかし、ライスはハマーズと1年間の契約延長オプションも付随している2024年夏までの長期契約を結んでいるため、移籍金は安価ではないとみられている。

また、世界中で感染拡大している新型コロナウイルス(COVID-19)の影響でプレミアリーグを含め多くのリーグが中断を余儀なくされている。そのため、今夏の移籍市場が予定されていた6月18日に開くかは不透明となっている。

なお、先日には新型コロナウイルスによる隔離措置中であり、ユース時代に親交のあるチェルシーMFメイソン・マウントと草サッカーを楽しんでいた姿が発見され、大きな問題となっていた。若返りを目指すチェルシーは今夏どの様な動きを見せるだろうか。

194cmの大型MFシュタハにプレミアから熱視線! リバプールら4クラブが関心寄せる

アーセナル、今季3rdユニフォームは緑!80年代意識のレトロスタイル
