セルタの下部組織出身のホセルは、2009年にレアル・マドリーのカスティージャに身を置くものの、トップチームでの出場はわずか1試合のみ。その後はホッフェンハイムやフランクフルト、ハノーファー、ストークなどを転々とし、2017年夏にニューカッスルに加入した。
ニューカッスルでは、在籍2年間で公式戦52試合で7ゴール2アシストをマーク。2018-19シーズンはプレミアリーグ16試合を含む公式戦20試合に出場し3ゴール1アシストを記録した。

どうやって乗ってるの!? 身長2mを超えるニューカッスルのCB、愛車は車高154cmのマイクロカー

リバプールやブライトン、2部リーグで躍動する19歳アレックス・スコットに関心か

ニューカッスルがU-21アイルランド代表DFマーフィーと契約更新、今季デビュー
ニューカッスルは13日、U-21アイルランド代表DFアレックス・マーフィー(19)との契約更新を発表した。長期契約を結んだという。 マーフィーは主戦場はセンターバックだが、左サイドバックでもプレー可能。2022年7月にアイルランドのゴールウェイ・ユナイテッドからニューカッスルのU-21チームに加入した。 来シーズンから正式にファーストチームに昇格するマーフィーは、今シーズンのプレミアリーグでは2試合に出場。2023年11月のチェルシー戦でデビューを果たした。 契約更新を果たしたマーフィーはクラブを通じてコメントしている。 「約2年前に初めて契約して以来、僕はすべての瞬間を愛している。僕はアカデミーとファーストチームの両方で、素晴らしい選手やコーチたちと仕事をすることができて幸運だった。僕に与えられた機会に本当に感謝している」 「このクラブで若くして選手になるのはエキサイティングな時期だ。今シーズン、ファーストチームデビューを果たした選手の数を見れば、道があることが誰もが分かる。ただハードワークを続ける必要があるし、これまでの進歩をさらに発展させられることを願っている」 2024.05.14 15:05 Tue
