▽マンチェスター・シティが、メジャーリーグサッカー(MLS)のコロンバス・クルーに所属するアメリカ代表GKザック・ステッフェン(23)の獲得に動いているようだ。イギリス『スカイ・スポーツ』が伝えた。

▽2014年から2016年までドイツのフライブルクに在籍していたステッフェン。しかし、トップチームデビューを果たすことはできず、2016年7月にコロンバス・クルーへ完全移籍した。その後、2017シーズンから正GKの座を掴んでブレイクすると、今シーズンはMLSベストイレブンとMLS最優秀GKに選出。今年初めにはフル代表デビューを飾り、同年6月に行われたフランス代表とのフレンドリーマッチでは再三の好守を披露し、1-1のドローに貢献している。

▽そんな成長著しいステッフェンに対して、シティが獲得に関心。同クラブは、元チリ代表GKクラウディオ・ブラーボが長期離脱しており、ブラジル代表GKエデルソンのバックアッパーとしての獲得を望んでいる模様。イギリス『スカイ・スポーツ』が伝えるところによると、500万ポンド(約7億2000万円)から800万ポンド(約11億6000万円)で来年1月の移籍で合意寸前に迫っているという。
