──ずばり、『2018 FIFAワールドカップロシア』予想優勝国は?
ブラジル
選手層が他の国に比べて圧倒的に厚い!! それがいつものブラジルだと前線だけだが、今回のブラジルは中盤やディフェンスもかなりタレントが揃っている。

組織では他の国に比べてまだ未完成な感じはありますが、この短期決戦でブラジルの選手層は完全に良いアドバンテージになる。

あと選手だとネイマールに注目されがちですが、フィルミーノ、コウチーニョにもぜひ注目してみてほしい。

──思い出のワールドカップは? また、その理由は

2006年ドイツ・ワールドカップ
この大会で優勝したイタリアですが、とにかくDFのファビオ・カンナヴァーロがキレキレやったんです。身長が176cmとかなり小柄な選手にも関わらず、スライディングでボール奪うのがとにかくうますぎるんです。

素人だと一見、「めっちゃ削りにいくやん? 今のファウルかも?」と思うんですが、しっかりボールを巻き込んで奪う技術。この大会で虜にさせられた選手ですね。

──今、いちばん注⽬している選⼿は?
エジプト代表:モハメド・サラー
僕自身リバプールがいちばん好きなクラブなんです。そのリバプールに17/18シーズンから加入したサラーが早速プレミアリーグ得点王と大爆発!!!! しかもチームはサラーの活躍もありCL決勝に進出!! こんなに興奮できたのはサラーのおかげです。

──サッカーを観戦するうえでのこだわりは?
リバプール戦を観戦する時は絶対に入場シーンから観て「You'll never walk alone」を一緒に合唱する!!

──観戦はひとり派? それともみんなでワイワイ派?
みんなですかね!! いつかリバプールのホームAnfieldで生の試合を観るのが夢なんです。それがCLやマージーサイドダービーなら尚更最高です。

──記憶に残っている試合(W杯にかかわらず)は?
南アフリカW杯の本田圭佑選手のフリーキックはリアルタイムで観てましたが、本当にすごかった……決まった瞬間全身鳥肌が立ちました……このロシアW杯本当に活躍してほしい。
