ピルロがオーストラリア代表を称賛…稀代の“レジスタ”が語る注目選手は?

元イタリア代表のアンドレア・ピルロ氏が、ロシア・ワールドカップに参戦しているオーストラリアを称賛している。イギリス誌『FourFourTwo』が伝えた。

ミランやユヴェントスで活躍し、イタリア代表として116キャップを記録したピルロ氏は、昨年に現役を引退。そのピルロ氏がこの度、『foxsports.com.au』に対して、オーストラリア代表についてコメントした。ピルロ氏は、「オーストラリアのフットボールは成長している」と同国の進歩について目を細め、2006年に行われたドイツW杯の決勝トーナメント1回戦(イタリアが1-0で勝利)で相まみえたことを回顧した。

「2006年にオーストラリアと対戦したことを覚えているよ。本当に苦しい試合になったね。オーストラリアのフットボールは速くて、フィジカルが強いんだ」

また、ロシアW杯でのオーストラリアの注目選手についてピルロ氏は、FWティム・ケーヒルとともに、ハダースフィールド・タウンに所属するMFアーロン・ムーイの名前を挙げた。

「彼は非常に良い選手だ。現在のオーストラリア代表の中でもベストの選手の一人だね。違いをつくることができるティム・ケーヒルとともに、今大会のオーストラリアにおいてカギとなる選手の一人であることは間違いない」

16日に行われた初戦でフランスと好勝負を演じながらも1-2で惜敗した“サッカルーズ”。21日にグループC第2節でデンマークと対戦する。

本田圭佑プロデュースのワインがついに完成!その名もずばり『KSKワイン』

「観客動員が少ない!」オーストラリア・Aリーグが従業員の半数解雇で事業再編へ…今季の平均観客動員数最多はシドニーFCで「1万4097人」
