Jリーグアウォーズで意外だった監督の評価/六川亨の日本サッカー見聞録
2024年のJ1リーグは神戸の連覇で幕を閉じた。2位の広島も粘ったものの、最後は神戸が湘南を3-0で退け自力優勝を達成。広島はG大阪に、3位の町田も鹿島に1-3で敗れて神戸に肉薄することはできなかった。 MVPには13ゴール7アシストで神戸を牽引した武藤嘉紀が選出された。今シーズンは、攻撃はもちろんのこと、守備でも泥臭く奮闘する“汗かき役”としてチームを牽引。当然の受賞と言える。 優秀監督賞には連覇を果たした神戸の吉田孝行監督(61票)ではなく、広島のミヒャエル・スキッベ監督が121票を獲得して2年ぶり2度目の受賞を果たした。3位は、開幕前は降格候補の1番手と思われていた東京Vの城福浩監督が44票を集めた。 12月9日に行われた東京Vのシーズン振り返り会見で、江尻篤彦強化部長はJ1昇格が決まったのは12月に入ってからだったため「(昇格が)決まってからだと市場に(選手も)残っていないかな」と遅いスタートを認めつつ、J1では何が大切かを城福監督と話したという。 そこでの結論は「質の高い選手がいないと勝てないよね」というもの。そこで「出場時間に恵まれていない選手をピックアップ」してG大阪から山見大登、京都から木村勇大らをレンタルで獲得。「出場機会に恵まれていない若い選手が結果を残してくれた」と総括した。 城福監督も「(6位は)我々のチームの規模、経験、選手層を考えたときに難しい戦いになることは覚悟していた。それは去年も同じで、昇格争いをすると思われていなかった。選手はまったく経験がない。そういう見られ方をしている中での6位は自負していい。昨日(の試合後)は、お前ら6位だ。たいしたもんだと選手を初めて褒めました」と開幕前の心境を明かした。 東京Vの歴史で、93年と94年こそリーグ連覇を達成したが、95年は横浜Mに敗れて2位。そこからは長い低迷時代に突入し、6位は96年の7位を上回る好成績だ。城福監督のシーズンを通してのチームマネジメント、激しく選手に闘争心を求め続けた姿勢は高く評価していいだろう。 意外だったのは、3位とJ1初昇格後に最高成績を収めた町田の黒田剛監督が16票で5位と低かったことだ。ルヴァン杯こそ決勝に進出したものの、リーグでは最終節まで残留争いに巻き込まれた新潟の松橋力蔵監督の29票にも及ばなかった。 推測するに、一発勝負の繰り返しである高校サッカーではリスクを排して守備を固め、ロングボールやセットプレーから得点を狙うスタイルは容認されても、プロの“興業”としての側面もあるJリーグでは、広島や新潟のようにポゼッションスタイルを監督も選手も「理想」としているのではないだろうか。 J2は昨シーズンのプレーオフ決勝で東京Vに同点弾を浴びて涙を飲んだ清水が堂々のJ1復帰を果たし、横浜FCも1年での返り咲きを果たした。J3では大宮がダントツの成績で1年でのJ2復帰を果たした。MF小島幹敏やFW杉本健勇らは“質”からいったらJ1レベルだけに、当然の帰還と言える。 意外だったのはJ2で勝点差1により3位に甘んじた長崎が、昇格プレーオフ準決勝で1-4と大敗したことだ。新スタジアムでは無敗を誇っていただけに、ショッキングな結果だった。そして岡山が初のJ1昇格を果たした。 J2昇格プレーオフ決勝は、富山まで取材に足を延ばした。リーグ戦終盤は5連勝で4位に食い込んだ松本は、準決勝でも福島に1点をリードされながら後半20分の野々村鷹人のゴールで同点に追いつき、規定によりリーグ戦上位の松本が決勝戦に進出。しかし3位富山との試合では、前半に2点をリードしながら後半に1点を返されると、アディショナルタイムの90+3分に左クロスから失点して無念のドロー。準決勝とは逆の立場でJ2復帰の夢は幻と消えた。 タイムアップの瞬間、11年ぶりのJ2復帰を決めた富山の選手による歓喜の輪がピッチに広がる一方、あと一歩のところで昇格を逃した松本は、司令塔の山本康裕ら3人以外は仰向けに倒れるか座り込んだまま動けない。残酷なまでの勝者と敗者のコントラストだった。 文・六川亨 2024.12.12 12:00 Thu

アジアカップはカタール代表の初優勝で終わり、5度目の戴冠を期待された日本代表は残念ながら準優勝に終わった。準決勝のイラン代表戦では今大会でベストのパフォーマンスから3-0の快勝を収めただけに、後手に回った決勝戦での前半の戦いぶりが悔やまれる。 そのカタール戦、ハーフタイムに控えの選手がピッチでボールを蹴っていたが、乾貴士と遠藤航の姿がなかった。0-2とリードされていただけに、「後半から乾と遠藤の2枚替えか。遠藤がボランチに戻れば守備を立て直すことができるが、体調は大丈夫なのか?」と期待したものの、森保一監督は動かなかった。 最初の交代カードは後半16分、原口元気に代えて武藤嘉紀を起用した。すると19分と21分に武藤が立て続けにヘッドでゴールを狙ったものの、シュートはクロスバーを越え、同点のチャンスを逃してしまった。決めていれば2011年カタール大会決勝の李忠成のようなヒーローになれただけに、武藤にとっては悔いの残るシュートだっただろう。 ただ、最初の交代カードで武藤を抜擢したが、彼の武器であるスピードはスペースがあってこと生きるタイプだ。カタールは自陣のゴール前を固めてカウンター狙いだったため、ゴールをこじ開けるにはクロスに対しガムシャラに飛び込む北川航也の方が効果的ではなかったかと疑問が残る。 それまで5試合に起用し、サブ組のFWでは最長の出場時間だっただけに、なぜ最後までベンチに温存したのか。北川が森保監督の期待に応えることができなかったと言われればそれまでだし、結果論にすぎないという反論もあることは百も承知だ。 そして改めて思うのは、北川は運がないということ。それは北川だけに限らず、今回彼が背負った日本代表の「背番号11」はなぜか結果に恵まれないということだ。 北川の前に「背番号11」を背負っていた選手が誰かと聞かれても、即答できるファンは数少ないのではないだろうか。ロシアW杯での「背番号11」は宇佐美貴史だったが、ほとんど活躍できなかった。 その前は豊田陽平であり、その前はというと柿谷曜一朗、原口元気、ハーフナー・マイク、前田遼一、玉田圭司、播戸竜二、佐藤寿人、巻誠一郎、鈴木隆行、黒部光昭、松井大輔、鈴木隆行、中山雅史、三浦淳寛、呂比須ワグナー、小野伸二、三浦知良らが「背番号11」を背負ってきた。 彼らの中で記憶に残るゴールを決めた選手となると、2002年日韓W杯の初戦ベルギー代表戦(2-2)で同点ゴールを決め、W杯で初めて勝点1をもたらした鈴木くらいではないだろうか。あとは“キング・カズ”の存在感が圧倒的だった。 もともと「背番号11」は左ウイングに与えられるナンバーだったものの、ポジションが流動化した現代サッカーでは9番と10番と同様に攻撃的な選手、ストライカーに与えられる番号でもある。にもかかわらず、日本代表の歴代「11番」は、カズ以降ストライカーとしての輝きを放てていない。 果たして3月に再招集される森保ジャパンにおいて、誰が「背番号11」を受け継ぐのか。そしてゴールという結果を出すことができるのか。23人のメンバーとともに注目したいと思っている。 2019.02.05 16:45 Tue

武藤嘉紀のニューカッスルがホームユニフォームを発表!プーマとの契約は終了

「LOEWE似合ってる」「流石にかっこよすぎる!」堂安律の私服姿にファン歓喜「オフスタイルもカッコイイ!」
