▽バーンリーは23日、エバートンから元イングランド代表MFアーロン・レノン(30)を獲得したことを発表した。移籍金や契約期間などは明かされていないが、背番号は25を着用することが発表されている。

▽バーンリーへの加入が決定したレノンは、クラブの公式サイトで移籍の喜びを語った。

▽レノンは、2015年2月にトッテナムからエバートンにレンタルで加入。その半年後の9月に完全移籍となった。レノンは、昨年5月に精神疾患の疑いで警察に通報され、精神保健法第136条の下で拘束され、病院に緊急搬送された。そのため、現役続行や早期復帰が危ぶまれていたが、急速な回復を見せた同選手は今シーズンの早々からピッチに復帰し、プレミアリーグ第23節終了時点で公式戦19試合2アシストを記録している。

プレミア初昇格のルートン・タウン、1905年から使用のホーム初戦の開催断念…改修は順調も遅延なしの可能性を「絶対に保証することはできない」

クラブ史上初のプレミアリーグ昇格を決めたルートン・タウンだが、懸念されていたスタジアム問題に直面する結果となった。 2022-23シーズンのプレミアリーグ昇格プレーオフ決勝では、コベントリー・シティとの対戦でPK戦を制して昇格を決めたルートン・タウン。クラブ史上初となるプレミアリーグ昇格はビッグニュースとなった。しかし、本拠地であるケニルワース・ロードには問題が。1905年からルートン・タウンの本拠地として使用されているケニルワース・ロードだが、プレミアリーグの基準を満たしていない状況。収容人数は1万356人であり、最低要件である5000人は上回っている状況だが、テレビ中継のための施設などが満たされていないという。そのため、新たなスタンドを建設しており、予定より早く作業は進んでいるとのこと。しかし、プレミアリーグの開幕には間に合わせられる保証ができないことから、初のホームゲームの延期を発表した。ルートン・タウンはクラブを通じて「プロジェクトの規模により、クラブはサポーターに対し、将来の予期せぬ問題によって遅延が生じ、ホームで予定されている開幕戦に影響を及ぼす可能性がないことを絶対に保証することはできない」と声明。早い段階で決断することで、しっかりと予定を組めると判断したとした。プレミアリーグの開幕戦では日本代表MF三笘薫が所属するブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオンとのアウェイゲームを戦うが、19日にバーンリーをホームに迎えて初のプレミアリーグを戦う予定だった。なお、クラブは2019年に新スタジアムの建設計画で許可をもらっており、2026年に完成予定。ただ、それまでにプレミアリーグの要件を満たすため、1000万ポンド(約17億4700万円)規模の改修工事を進めている。 2023.07.15 10:40 Sat
