▽バーンリーは14日、アイルランド代表DFステファン・ウォード(31)との契約延長を発表した。新契約は2019年6月30日までで1年間の延長オプションが付随している。

▽契約延長に至ったウォードは、クラブの公式サイトで次のように話した。

｢新たな契約を結べてとてもうれしいね。バーンリーの一員としてプレーすることは、誇らしいことだよ。上手くいけばもう一年ここでプレーを続けることができるんだ｣

▽2014年8月にウォルバーハンプトンからバーンリーへ3年契約で加入したウォードは、ここまで在籍4年間で76試合に出場し、3ゴール5アシストをマーク。

▽12日に行われた今シーズン開幕節のチェルシー戦に先発出場したウォードは、39分に今季初ゴールを記録。バーンリーは、昨季王者チェルシーに3-2で勝利した。

足首があらぬ方向に…試合中のアクシデントに負傷させてしまった相手選手が号泣
