チームメイトに頭突きで強制帰宅のドリンクウォーター、再開したトレーニングにはしっかり参加

アストン・ビラにレンタル中の元イングランド代表MFダニー・ドリンクウォーターがトレーニングに参加した。イギリス『デイリー・メール』が伝えている。

2016年夏にチェルシーに加入したドリンクウォーターだが、パフォーマンスの低下に加え、ピッチ外での問題が見られたことで監督の信頼を勝ち取れず、チェルシーでの2年間でわずか19試合の出場に留まっていた。

今シーズンの前半はバーンリーへのレンタルをしていたものの、わずか2試合のみの出場。後半戦からはアストン・ビラに再度レンタルされていた。

アストン・ビラでは4試合に先発出場していたものの、いずれの試合も途中で交代しており、中断前最後の試合となった4-0で敗れた古巣のレスター・シティ戦ではベンチ入りのみとなっている。

飲酒運転などピッチ外の素行の悪さが指摘されていたドリンクウォーターだが、レンタル先のアストン・ビラでも騒動を起こしており、3月10日のトレーニングでは、チームメイトのスペイン人MFジョタに頭突きを食らわせ、強制的に帰宅させられていた。

これを受け、アストン・ビラはドリンクウォーターのレンタル契約を解除することを検討と報じられていたが、再開したトレーニング場にその姿があったという。

アストン・ビラは、20日少人数でのトレーニングを再開。そこにはドリンクウォーターが通常通り参加しており、ジョタとの関係も友好的であったようだ。

アストン・ビラがスタジアム改修をスタート、ユーロ2028の会場となり5万人収容に変貌へ
