「家族との時間を楽しみたい」元日本代表監督のザッケローニ氏、監督業を引退へ

かつて日本代表も率いたアルベルト・ザッケローニ氏が、監督業からの引退を明かした。イタリア『チェゼーナ・トゥデイ』が伝えた。

ザッケローニ氏は、監督としてウディネーゼやミラン、ラツィオ、インテル、トリノ、ユベントスと指揮。イタリアのビッグ3全てで指揮を執るなどの功績があった中、2010年9月に日本代表の監督に就任した。

2010年の南アフリカ・ワールドカップでベスト16入りした日本を率いたザッケローニ監督は、就任から16戦負けなし。2011年のアジアカップでは決勝でオーストラリア代表を下して優勝するなどの功績を残した。

しかし、2014年のブラジル・ワールドカップでは、大きな期待を寄せられた中3戦未勝利、1分け2敗でグループステージ敗退。そのまま退任となっていた。

その後は、北京国安、UAE代表の監督を歴任。しかし、2019年1月以降はフリーとなっていた。

17日、自身の故郷でもあるチェゼナーティコで行われたパーティに参加したザッケローニ氏がインタビューに応対。古巣のミランやセリエAについて語る中で、日本代表監督時代についても語った。

「特別な4年だった。世界のどこにも存在しないほど、そこにはリスペクトがあった。天皇陛下に会った時、2500人の人がいた。しかし、彼は私に手を差し伸べてくれた。これは今までになかったことだ」

「人々は彼らを目にした時、泣き始めた。その国を去ることがとても大変だった。3日間涙した」

「ある女性からは、生まれたばかりの息子にザックという名前を付けたとも聞いた」

また、自身の今後についても問われると、意外な返答が。監督としての仕事を行わないと明かした。

「私はもうトレーニングしない。チェゼナーティコで、私の家族との時間を楽しみたい」

日本代表、W杯メンバー選出の難しさ…監督の方針に見る歴史/六川亨の日本サッカーの歩み

前回のコラムの続編をお届けしよう。 4年に一度、W杯最終メンバー発表時における「サプライズ選出」と「サプライズ選外」だが、日本が初出場した98年フランスW杯での"キング"カズこと三浦知良の「メンバー外」は衝撃的であり驚きでもあった。 25名の選手をキャンプに帯同して、最終的に22人にメンバーを絞る――それ自体は悪いことではないと思われたものの、「落選」した3選手の心情に対する配慮が欠けていたことは否めない。テレビ的にはたぶんに"ショー的要素"があり、ましてや落ちたのがカズだけに多くの反響を呼んだ。しかしJFA(日本サッカー協会)はこの反省を生かし、それ以降のメンバー発表は必ずホテルで、選出された選手のみの発表にとどめてきた。選外となった選手への質問には監督、技術委員長とも一切答えなかった。そしてそれは現在も続いている。話を20年ほど前に戻すと、カズに続き4年後の2002年日韓W杯でも「サプライズ選出」が続いた。負傷の名波浩から『背番号10』を受け継いだ中村俊輔のメンバー落ちである。代わりに入ったベテランの中山雅史と秋田豊は「サプライズ選出」だったものの、さほど世間の注目は集めなかった。中村俊の選外については、同じポジションに小野伸二や三都主アレサンドロらがいたためポジションがないとか、彼のプレースタイルをフィリップ・トルシエ監督が嫌ったと言われたものだ。それらも外れた理由の一つかもしれないが、さらなる原因として彼のベンチでの態度を問題視する関係者もいた。当時の中村俊は6月に24歳になったばかり。2年前には最年少でJリーグの最優秀選手賞と、日本年間最優秀選手賞を受賞するなど選手としてピークにあった。しかし代表の試合でベンチにいると、仲間とチームを応援するというよりは「自分の世界」に閉じこもっている印象を受けた。選手には、「格」というものがあると思っている。その「格」から言うと、当時のカズも中村俊もベンチスタートの選手ではなかった。ベンチにいてチームを盛り上げるような、"裏方"の選手ではないのだ。だからこそ、「サプライズ選出」はゴンであり秋田だったのかもしれない。地元開催でベスト16進出がノルマとなる、これまで経験したことのないような強烈なプレッシャーのかかる大会では、2人のベテランの力が必要だったのだろう。 2006年のドイツW杯は中村俊を始め中田英寿、小野伸二、小笠原満男、稲本潤一ら中盤にタレントを擁し、なおかつ選手としてピークを迎えているため期待も高かった。「サプライズ選出&選外」はケガの多かったFW久保竜彦に代わり長身選手の巻誠一郎がメンバー入りしたことだろう。しかし多くのタレントをジーコ監督は使い切れずと言ったら語弊があるかもしれないが、競争原理からメンバーを固定したことで、かえってチームの統率を欠くことになった。ここらあたりが外国人監督の難しさ、日本人のメンタリティーとの違いと言えるかもしれない。 2014年ブラジルW杯のアルベルト・ザッケローニ監督もメンバーを固定する傾向にあり、「サプライズ選出」として2年ぶりに大久保嘉人を代表に復帰させた。しかしジーコ監督と同様に初戦でコートジボワールに1-2と逆転負けすると(ドイツW杯ではオーストラリアに1-3)、固定メンバーの弊害からかチーム内に不協和音が出始める。続く第2戦で勝っていれば良かったが、ブラジルではギリシャに、ドイツでもクロアチアに0-0と引き分けて窮地に追い込まれ、第3戦で大敗してグループリーグ敗退が決まった。本田圭佑や岡崎慎司、香川真司らがピークを迎えたブラジルW杯だっただけに、もったいない敗退だった。その一方で、2010年の南アW杯では2度目のチャレンジとなる岡田武史監督がベスト16進出を決めた。34歳のベテランGK川口能活に、出場機会はほとんどないながらもチームのまとめ役を託した。そしてエースの中村俊が右足首からの負傷が最後の最後まで癒えないと判断すると、本田圭佑を中村俊とポジション争いをしていた右MFではなく1トップに抜擢。阿部勇樹をアンカーに、松井大輔と大久保嘉人を両サイドMFに起用する4-1-4-1の布陣を採用してグループリーグ突破に成功した。この柔軟性は18年ロシア大会の西野朗監督にも当てはまるのではないだろうか。4年前の"絶対的なエース"だった本田と岡崎、香川はヴァイッド・ハリルホジッチ監督の下ではポジションを確約されるかどうか微妙な立場だった。「個人的なスター」を嫌うのはトルシエ監督とそっくりで、それはフランス人のメンタリティーではないかと疑ったものだ。そんな彼らをジョーカーとしてベンチに置きつつ(香川はスタメンで起用)、要所で起用した。ケガがあったとはいえ岡田監督は中村俊を、西野監督は本田や岡崎にベンチスタートを納得させた。これは、日本人監督ならではの「和をもって貴しとなす」といった選手の起用法ではないだろうか。そうした視点からすると、繰り返しになるが森保一監督に「サプライズ選出」も「サプライズ選外」もないだろう。注目すべきは誰をスタメンに起用し、ベンチに温存するか。これに関してはカタール入りしてから試合前日まで悩むことだろう。そこで選手の序列に変化があるのかどうか。それも森保監督の采配の見どころと言えるかもしれない。 2022.10.31 19:00 Mon

「すっごく良い顔」「親戚と会った時の顔してる」内田篤人とザッケローニ元日本代表監督の再会が反響!「ザックJAPAN好きでした!」

▽日本サッカー協会(JFA)は15日、国際親善試合及びキリンチャレンジカップ 2018 in EUROPEに臨む同国代表メンバー26名を発表した。 ▽メンバー発表会見に出席した日本代表のヴァイッド・ハリルホジッチ監督は、今回の選考基準を説明。代表復帰となったDF森重真人(FC東京)やFW本田圭佑(パチューカ/メキシコ)への期待や初選出となったFW中島翔哉(ポルティモネンセ/ポルトガル)の招集理由についても明かした。 GK 川島永嗣(メス/フランス) 中村航輔(柏レイソル) 東口順昭(ガンバ大阪) 「GKは3人。ただ、現段階のパフォーマンスに満足している訳ではない。もっともっと向上して欲しい。」 DF 酒井宏樹(マルセイユ/フランス) 遠藤航(浦和レッズ) 「酒井は日本人選手の中では、定期的に高いパフォーマンスを継続している。ここ最近調子も良い。遠藤は昨日のルヴァンカップで少し問題が出た。今検査をしている段階と聞いている。ただ、バックアップはすでに用意している。何が起きても問題はない」 DF 長友佑都(ガラタサライ/トルコ) 車屋紳太郎(川崎フロンターレ) 宇賀神友弥(浦和レッズ) 「次に左サイド。長友はクラブを変えたにも関わらず、定期的に試合に出場していて嬉しい。彼の存在は日本代表に必要不可欠だ。車屋と宇賀神の戦いは、これから始まる。合宿を多くこなしている訳ではないが、右サイドでもいけるのかというのも見極めなくてはいけない。どこまでついて行けるかをこれから見ていく」 DF 昌子源(鹿島アントラーズ) 植田直通(鹿島アントラーズ) 槙野智章(浦和レッズ) 森重真人(FC東京) 「それから真ん中。最初の3人(昌子、植田、槙野)はもっとできると思っている。そして、森重をなぜ呼んだか。まだ彼は準備できている段階ではない。すぐに使う訳でもない。ただ、彼がどのような状況になっているかを知りたい。励ますためにも呼んでいる。彼が以前のレベルに戻るかどうか。もちろん(吉田)麻也がいないということもある。彼の経験が我々にとってどこまで使えるかというのもある。ただ、まだまだトップパフォーマンスには程遠い。モチベーションを上げる努力をしていかなくてはいけない。早くレベルを戻してほしい」 MF 長谷部誠(フランクフルト/ドイツ) 三竿健斗(鹿島アントラーズ) 山口蛍(セレッソ大阪) 「長谷部は真ん中もできれば後ろもできる。本会までにケガなくいってほしい。三竿は、良いパフォーマンスを続けている。(山口)蛍は、常に呼んでいる選手だが、守備だけで終わるのではなく攻撃のところでもっと野心を持ってほしい。代表では良いパフォーマンスを見せている。イラク戦では我々を助けてくれた選手の1人だ」 MF 大島僚太(川崎フロンターレ) 柴崎岳(ヘタフェ/スペイン) 森岡亮太(アンデルレヒト/ベルギー) 「大島は国内でも優秀な選手の1人。彼もよくケガをするが、我々もしっかりとコンタクトをとって、そこを脱して良い状況が続いていると思う。(柴崎)岳と森岡は、(香川)真司と清武が居ないこともあり、10番や8番のタイプとして期待している。柴崎は、クラブで毎回先発という訳ではないが、レベルが上がってきていると思う。森岡はすでに2、3回観ているが、フィジカル的なところやデュエルの部分でまだ伸びると思う。ゴール数やアシスト数はリーグでも断トツ。ただ、ゲームのアクションの中でまだまだ伸びる部分はあると思う」 FW 久保裕也(ヘント/ベルギー) 本田圭佑(パチューカ/メキシコ) 「久保もまだまだ私の満足いくパフォーマンスではない。それから(本田)圭佑は、このチャンスを是非とも掴んでほしい」 FW 原口元気(デュッセルドルフ/ドイツ) 宇佐美貴史(デュッセルドルフ/ドイツ) 中島翔哉(ポルティモネンセ/ポルトガル) 「原口と宇佐美は、同じクラブでプレーしている。ここ直近の数試合で宇佐美は、しっかりと伸びている状況。ある時期はチームで干されるかもしれない状況だったが、今は出ている。原口も同じだ」「それから長い間追跡している中島。本当にたくさん試合に出場していて、得点やアシストもしている。ドリブラーでここまで俊敏で爆発的なものを持っている選手は日本になかなかいない。前回のオリンピック代表の監督であったテグ(手倉森誠)さんともしっかりと話をして、オフェンス面で何かもたらせるのではないかという判断。ただ、守備面では代表で私が求めるレベルではない。様子を見たい」 FW 小林悠(川崎フロンターレ) 杉本健勇(セレッソ大阪) 大迫勇也(ケルン/ドイツ) 「最初の2人はここ最近で本当に伸びてきている。オフェンス面で日本で素晴らしい結果を出している。彼も自分たちのプレーの仕方を変えて伸びてきている。真ん中の選手として、アグレッシブに背後、そしてペナルティエリア内で存在感を出している。それから相手の最終ラインからの組み立てを最初に防ぐ仕事もしている。我々が観たここ数試合でも良いパフォーマンスだった。これを続けてくれと言いたい」「大迫は、クラブで真ん中でなく、横や後ろでもプレーしているが、良くなってきている。代表ではクラブとは全く違うアクションをしてほしい。常に背負った状態でプレーするのではなく、ゴールに向いてプレーして欲しい。この3人は素晴らしいヘディングを持っている。W杯本大会でもこれが重要になってくる。もちろんFKを貰えればの話。守備でもしっかりと守らなくてはいけない。大事になってくる。W杯ではFKが決定的な状況を作ることもある」 ▽なお、日本代表は、3月のベルギー遠征で2試合の国際親善試合を予定。ロシアW杯に向けた選手見極めとチーム強化のため、マリ代表(23日/ベルギー)、ウクライナ代表(27日/同)と対戦する。 2018.03.15 19:50 Thu
