チャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部)のブリストル・シティは9日、FC町田ゼルビアのU-23日本代表FW平河悠(23)をレンタルで獲得したと発表した。完全移籍を視野に入れた2024-25シーズン限りの契約。背番号は「7」をつける。平河は山梨学院大学に在学中の2021年から町田の特別指定選手となり、2023年に正式入団。ルーキーイヤーから主力として活躍し、クラブとともにJ1初挑戦の2024シーズンもここまで18試合で2得点5アシストを記録している。
J1第22節の名古屋グランパス戦後には海外移籍前提の手続きと準備でチームを離脱。ブリストル・シティ入りが有力とみられていたなか、名古屋戦を最後に現地へ飛び、メディカルチェックを経て正式契約を結ぶ運びとなっていた。
テクニカル・ディレクター(TD)のブライアン・ティニオン氏はクラブを通じてコメント。平河の加入を歓迎した。

希少価値の左利きの左SB大畑歩夢はパリ五輪から何を学び、この先をどう進むのか?【新しい景色へ導く期待の選手/vol.46】
8月2日(日本時間3日)のパリ五輪準々決勝・スペイン戦(リヨン)の激闘から5日。U-23日本代表の国内組は気持ちを切り替え、7日再開のJ1に向かった。 浦和レッズの左サイドバック(SB)大畑歩夢は柏レイソル戦でベンチ入りしたが、雷雨の影響で突如として試合がキャンセルになってしまった。だが、本人にしてみれば、少しゲーム間隔が空いて、ホッとしたところがあったかもしれない。 中断期間にサガン鳥栖から長沼洋一が加わり、関根貴大の左SB起用もあって、定位置争いはこれまで以上に激化しそうだが、「ポジション争い? 気にせずですね」と帰国時のメディア対応でも発言。彼は自分らしく成長への道を模索していく構えだ。 ご存じの通り、今回のパリ五輪の日本は開幕直前に両SB要員と位置づけられた半田陸(G大阪)が負傷離脱。代わってドイツにいた内野貴史(デュッセルドルフ)が急遽招集されたが、直前合宿をこなしていない分、大畑の負担はより重くなった。 それでも、7月24日(同25日)の初戦・パラグアイ戦(ボルドー)、27日(同28日)のマリ戦に連続先発。彼はタフさをアピールし、チームの勝利に貢献する。30日(同31日)のイスラエル戦(ナント)は休養を与えられたが、大一番のスペイン戦も満を持してスタメン出場。VAR判定で取り消された細谷真大(柏)の同点弾をお膳立てするパスを藤田譲瑠チマ(シント=トロイデン)に出すなど、光るプレーを随所に見せた。 「あのシーンは攻撃に人数をかけた分、ボランチのチマが前に出ていくことができた。攻撃の厚みが出せて、あそこが空いて、うまく決まったシーンかなと。決まった瞬間、『これはイケるな』と思ったので、取り消しになってちょっと落ちた印象はありますね」と大畑はこのシーンが勝敗を大きく左右したと考えている様子だった。 とはいえ、それだけで0-3という悔しい結果になったわけではない。ユーロ2024に出場し、頂点に立っているフェルミン・ロペス(バルセロナ)らと対峙して、個の力の差を改めて痛感したと大畑は言う。 「個人個人が1人(敵が)来ても絶対に剥がせるところだったり、スペースを簡単に使えるスペインのサッカーというのは本当に自分たちも嫌だった。相手のフィジカルもボールを扱う技術もかなりレベルが高かった。チーム全体として見たら、そんなに大きな差はないと思いますけど、個人として見るとやっぱり差はあるのかなと感じました」 「自分はAFC(AFCチャンピオンズリーグ)もやってきたし、その経験からできた部分もありますけど、フランスやスペインといった強豪にはできたという感覚はない。トップトップの国に比べたら、全然まだまだだなと思う。彼らと肩を並べるところまでは行きたいですね」と本人もしみじみと語っていた。 その穴を埋めるためには一体、何をすべきなのか…。1つの解決策はやはり海外に出ることだろう。 「海外に行けば、やっぱりJリーグでは味わえない強度だったりがある。ただ、いろいろと考えも変わってくるので、今は難しいところです」と大畑は苦渋の表情を浮かべた。2025年夏にFIFAクラブW杯を控える浦和でプレーし続けることの重要性も感じているだけに、複雑な思いはあるはずだ。 ただ、今回のU-23日本代表を見ても、藤田や山本理仁や小久保玲央ブライアン(ともにシント=トロイデン)、斉藤光毅(ロンメル)のように海外でプレーしている選手たちには多少なりとも余裕のようなものが感じられた。特にMVP級の働きを見せた藤田はこの1年間の経験値が非常に大きかったと言っていい。 さらに、今夏の移籍市場で平河悠(ブリストル・シティ)が欧州挑戦に踏み切ったことも、同じ国内組の大畑には思うところがあるだろう。もちろんサッカー選手はオファーが届かなければ何も始まらないが、より高いレベルを追い求めるならば、近い将来、そういった決断をする日が訪れるのかもしれない。 大畑がどういう道を選択するにしても、人材難と言われる左SBが成長することは日本サッカー界にとっても大きなプラスになるのは間違いない。しかも彼は貴重なレフティだ。今のA代表をを見ると、バイエルン・ミュンヘンにステップアップした伊藤洋輝が左利きではあるが、それ以外の長友佑都(FC東京)にしても、両SB要員の橋岡大樹(ルートン・タウン)にしても右利きだ。 パリ世代のバングーナガンデ佳史扶(FC東京)は左利きだが、現時点では大畑の方が序列的に上だろう。パリ五輪を経験したアドバンテージを最大限生かして、彼には森保ジャパン昇格への強い意欲を前面に示してほしいところだ。 「五輪では本当に優勝したいという気持ちしかなかったので、悔しさしかないです」と語った大畑はその気持ちを絶対に忘れてはいけない。スペイン戦で起きたことの全てを脳裏に焼き付け、ここから歩んでいくべきだ。それが高みを追い求める大きな原動力になるはず。希少な左SBの今後の動向を注視していきたいものである。 文・元川悦子 2024.08.09 12:20 Fri

パリ五輪日本代表FW平河悠のブリストル・シティ加入が決定! 町田から完全移籍視野のレンタルに

町田FW平河悠が加入と同時にモデル起用! ブリストル・シティが新アウェイユニフォーム発表…ホームユニフォーム姿も注目

「まだ改善すべきことが多い」2ゴールで勝利貢献の大橋祐紀、自身よりもチームを第一に「最も重要なのは3ポイント」
