チェルシーは3日、ノッティンガム・フォレストにレンタル中だったU-23ブラジル代表MFアンドレイ・サントス(19)の復帰を発表した。
アンドレイ・サントスはセントラルMFを主戦場に、豊富な運動量、的確な判断力に加え、フィニッシュにも顔を出せるボックス・トゥー・ボックスの万能型。バルセロナやパリ・サンジェルマン、マンチェスター・シティなどヨーロッパの錚々たるクラブが関心を示したなか、昨冬にチェルシーへ完全移籍した。
なお、同選手がチェルシーで残りシーズンを戦う可能性は低く、今後はより出場機会を得られるクラブへのレンタル先の変更が有力となっている。

昨夏、ヴァスコ・ダ・ガマからチェルシーに正式加入となったアンドレイ・サントス。だが、ブルーズのファーストチームでは十分な出場機会を得られないため、フォレストに1年間の武者修行に出ることが決定した。しかし、その新天地では昨年8月末に行われたEFLカップ2回戦のバーンリー戦でデビューを飾ったが、以降はポジション争いで苦戦。10月末に行われたリバプール戦の途中出場でのプレミアリーグデビューが唯一の出場だったなお、同選手がチェルシーで残りシーズンを戦う可能性は低く、今後はより出場機会を得られるクラブへのレンタル先の変更が有力となっている。

40億円で引き抜かれ5年契約もたった7カ月で解任…チェルシー時代を回想したポッター氏が当時を語る「フラストレーションや怒り、苦い気持ちが生まれた」
