なでしこジャパンのDF宝田沙織と元なでしこジャパンのFW横山久美が所属するワシントン・スピリットが、ナショナル・ウーマンズ・サッカーリーグ(NWSL)の女王に輝いた。20日にシカゴ・レッド・スターズとのファイナルが行われた中、宝田と横山は揃ってベンチスタートとなった。

試合はシカゴ・レッド・スターズが前半アディショナルタイムに先制。粘るワシントン・スピリットは、67分に同点に追いつくと試合は延長戦へ突入する。
すると97分にワシントン・スピリットが逆転ゴールを奪い、そのまま逃げ切り2-1で勝利。女王に輝いた。

なお、宝田は116分から途中出場。横山は出場機会がなかった。
見事に優勝したワシントン・スピリット。横山は自身のインスタグラムで優勝を喜んだ。

「初のチャンピオン。実感湧かんな!色んな事あったな〜またいつか詳しく書くねw」

「とりあえず今年は自分であるための一歩を踏み出せた」

また、交際し先日プロポーズをしたなみさんとの2ショットも掲載し感謝。「側で支えてくれてありがとう!」と綴っていた。

宝田も自身のインスタグラムを更新し、「We are the champions」と優勝を報告した。

なでしこジャパン元10番が好調を維持、テクニカルなタッチで男子チームからゴール奪取

魔女の宅急便」のモデルにもなった島でプレーする日本人も! なでしこメンバーらスウェーデンでプレーする日本人選手6人が大集合

「壮大で記憶に残る」ナイキのPVでムバッペvsロナウジーニョが実現!豪炎寺修也も登場で海外ファン歓喜
