ポートランド・ソーンズFCに所属するなでしこジャパンのMF杉田妃和が、チームの決勝点を挙げた。

ポートランドは現地時間7日、アメリカのナショナル・ウィメンズ・サッカーリーグ(NWSL)第21節でゴッサムFCをホームに迎え、1-0で勝利。この日唯一となるゴールを、なでしこジャパンのアタッカーがたたき出した。

これまでの右ワイドではなく、この日は[4-2-3-1]のダブルボランチの一角として先発フル出場した杉田は53分、右CKのこぼれ球を拾い、ダブルタッチからの右足シュートでゴールを脅かす。

これがGKに阻まれてポートランドは再びのCKを獲得すると、サム・コフィーのクロスはニアで跳ね返されるが、セカンドボールを回収して今度はファーへインスイングのクロスを供給。杉田が相手DFと競り合いながらも頭で押し込み、54分にネットを揺らした。

杉田はこれがリーグ戦5得点目。頭での得点は今季初となった。

このゴールが決勝点となり勝ち点「35」としたポートランドは、ノースカロライナ・カレッジ(勝ち点30)と引き分けたサンディエゴ・ウエーブ(勝ち点34)をかわして首位に。15日の最終節、エンジェル・シティFCで勝利するか、引き分け以下でも他会場の結果次第で2季ぶりのシールド獲得(レギュラーシーズン優勝)が決まる。

また、同時に2位以内も確定し、リーグ戦上位6チームによるプレーオフも準決勝からの出場が決定。ポートランドにとっては2年連続4度目、杉田にとっても2年連続のトロフィー獲得が懸かる。

水頭症の治療も及ばず他界した工藤壮人に古巣が追悼…カナダからもメッセージ「一番辛い仕事」、「信じられません」

「今回もニッコニコ」もはや恒例!1人だけ笑顔の日本代表集合写真がまたも話題に「待ってました!」「いつも笑顔が素敵」
