世界には130億ポンド(約2兆円)もの財産を持つサッカー選手が存在するようだ。イギリス『サン』が伝えている。

高収入のサッカー選手として思い浮かべるのは誰だろう。マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのポルトガル代表FWクリスティアーノ・ロナウドの年収は100億円を超えると言われ、総資産額は約3億6300万ポンド(約560億円)にも上るとされている。

だが、どうやらイギリス『サン』によれば、C・ロナウド以上の財産を有しているサッカー選手がいるとのことだ。それがマリティモのブルネイ・ダルサラーム代表FWファイク・ボルキア(23)だ。石油王でもあり、スルターン(国王、皇帝)の称号を与えられている叔父から相続した財産が130億ポンドだというのだ。

父親はブルネイの王子・ジェフリ・ボルキア。月に3500万ポンド(約54億円)を使うほど豪遊していると言われ、過去には約1250万ポンド(約20億円)を投じてマイケル・ジャクソン氏のプライベート・コンサートを開いたというから驚きだ。

ボルキアのいとこたちは自国で贅沢なライフスタイルを楽しんでいるようだが、彼自身はサッカー選手になることを夢見てそれを実現させた。

アメリカ・ロサンゼルスで生まれ、育成年代ではアーセナルやチェルシーで過ごしたボルキアは、レスター・シティを経て2020年夏にマリティモへと加入し、現在に至る。

ここまではユースチームでの出場のみにとどまっているが、トップチームでの出番は訪れるのだろうか。

C・ロナウドは破局したら毎月1600万円を支払い? 「妻」と呼んで話題のジョルジーナさんとの間に契約が発覚
