ウルグアイサッカー連盟(AUF)は17日、1924年のパリ・オリンピック(五輪)での金メダル獲得から100周年を記念したユニフォームを発表している。
ワールドカップ(W杯)において、1930年の第1回大会を含む2度の優勝回数を誇るウルグアイ。五輪でも2度の優勝経験があり、初めて優勝したのが1924年のパリ五輪だった。
初優勝から100年を記念したユニフォームは、当時を彷彿させる襟付きのクラシカルなデザインに。サプライヤーもなくウルグアイ代表のエンブレムのみが左胸にあしらわれている。
ユニフォームについては、水色ベースと白ベースのフィールドプレイヤーに加え、緑とオレンジがベースになったGK2種の計4種類が展開されており、そのデザインはどれも共通になっている。
ファンは、このユニフォームについて「美しい」、「たまらない」、「サプライヤーなしの方がいいじゃないか」、「素晴らしい」とコメントしている。
なお、この記念ユニフォームは、20日に開幕するCONMEBOLプレオリンピック大会で、パリ五輪の出場権獲得を目指すマルセロ・ビエルサ監督率いるU-23ウルグアイ代表が着用する。

国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)は27日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)での試合で起こった事件に関して、ウルグアイ代表への処分を発表した。
事件が起こったのは12月2日のカタールW杯、ガーナ代表vsウルグアイ代表の試合だ。
試合は2-0でガーナが勝利し、ウルグアイはグループステージで敗退。この試合中には、ガーナのファウルを取らなかったとして選手がドイツ人主審へと詰め寄っていた。また、試合後にも騒動が起こり、両チームの選手たちが揉める事件が起こっていた。
FIFA規律委員会は、ウルグアイサッカー協会(AUF)がウルグアイ代表のサポーターによる差別行動、選手たちの不正行為、攻撃的な行為、そしてフェアプレー違反の責任を負うべきだと判断したという。
また、FIFA規律委員会は不正行為を行った4選手に対し、個別の制裁を課すことを発表した。
処分対象となったのは、DFホセ・マリア・ヒメネス、GKフェルナンド・ムスレラ、FWエディンソン・カバーニ、DFディエゴ・ゴディンの4名となる。
AUFに対しては、次のFIFA国際Aマッチでゴール裏の閉鎖に加え、5万スイスフラン(約700万円)の罰金処分が課される。
また、ヒメネスとムスレラには4試合の出場停止と、奉仕活動、2万スイスフラン(約280万円)の罰金、カバーニとゴディンには、1試合の出場停止と1万5000スイスフラン(約211万円)の罰金が課される。

南米サッカー連盟(CONMEBOL)は8日、コパ・アメリカ2024の組み合わせ抽選会を実施した。
2024年6月20日開幕し、7月14日に決勝を迎える今大会。2016年に100周年記念大会として行われたコパ・アメリカ・センテナリオ以来のアメリカ開催となる。
今大会は、南米の10カ国に加え、北中米サッカー連盟(CONCACAF)の6カ国が出場。ジャマイカ、メキシコ、パナマ、アメリカの出場が決定しており、残り2カ国はトリニダード・トバゴvsカナダの勝者、コスタリカvsホンジュラスの勝者となる。
4カ国が4つのグループに分かれて行われる中、前回大会王者のアルゼンチンはグループAに入り、ペルー、チリ、そしてトリニダード・トバゴvsカナダの勝者と対戦する。
前回準優勝のブラジルはグループDに入り、コロンビア、パラグアイ、コスタリカvsホンジュラスの勝者と同居した。

ウルグアイサッカー連盟(AUF)が、ウルグアイ代表の新ユニフォームを発表している。
2024年初頭にプーマとのユニフォームサプライヤー契約が終了したウルグアイ。新たなユニフォームサプライヤーとの契約はまだ結ばれておらず、今回の新ユニフォームもサプライヤーなしでの製作となった。
その新ユニフォームには、男女平等のための戦いに貢献するという目的もあり、3月8日の国際女性デーの枠組みから、ユニフォームの一部に女性に対する暴力根絶のシンボルであるパープルリボンにちなんだ紫色が取り入れられ、「8M」のロゴもあしらわれている。
AUFがこの「8M」のロゴを用いたユニフォームを製作したのは史上初のことであり、23日にバスク代表と、26日にコートジボワール代表と対戦する男子チームの選手たちの試合でお披露目となるということだ。
6月に開幕するコパ・アメリカ2024にも出場するウルグアイだが、このユニフォームを同大会で着用するかどうかは不明だ。
