欧州サッカー連盟(UEFA)は13日、2026年北中米ワールドカップ(W杯)欧州予選の組み合わせ抽選会を実施した。
アメリカ、カナダ、メキシコの3カ国が共催する次のW杯。これまでの32カ国から、48カ国に出場国が増加し、規模が大きくなった初の大会となる。
アジア、南米、アフリカではすでにW杯予選がスタートしている中、ヨーロッパはUEFAネーションズリーグ(UNL)が開催されており、ここから本格的に予選がスタートする。
12のグループに分かれて行われる欧州予選。各グループの1位はW杯出場権を獲得。グループ2位の12カ国はプレーオフに進出し、その中から4カ国が出場権を獲得。ヨーロッパからは合計16カ国が出場することとなる。
UNLの準々決勝以降はまだ行われていないため、一部のグループは組み合わせが決まっていない中、確定しているグループもある。
イングランド代表はグループKに入り、5カ国で戦うことに。セルビア代表、アルバニア代表、ラトビア代表、アンドラ代表と同居した。
また、ベルギー代表はグループJに入り、ウェールズ代表、北マケドニア代表、カザフスタン代表、リヒテンシュタイン代表と同居している。
欧州予選は2025年3月から11月までの5回のインターナショナル・マッチウィークで行われることに。4カ国で組まれているグループAからFまでは9月まで予選が行われないこととなる。

DFユリエン・ティンバー(アーセナル)とMFクインテン・ティンバー(フェイエノールト)の双子兄弟がオランダ代表で初めて共にプレーした。
7日、UEFAネーションズリーグでリーグA・グループ3に属するオランダ代表は、第1節でボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナ代表と対戦。FWジョシュア・ザークツィー(マンチェスター・ユナイテッド)のゴールを皮切りに、5-2の大勝を収めた。
この試合では、ヒザの大ケガにより1年近く代表を離れていたユリエン・ティンバーが66分から出場。また、3月に代表デビューを果たしたクインテン・ティンバーも83分から登場し、2キャップ目を刻んでいる。
オランダ『Algemeen Dagblad』によると、オランダ代表で共にプレーした兄弟はこれが8組目。双子ではウィリーとレネのファン・デ・ケルクホフ兄弟、ロナルドとフランクのデ・ブール兄弟に次ぐ3組目の快挙となった。
ティンバー兄弟が共に戦ったのは約4年ぶり。前回はヨング・アヤックス時代で、2020年9月14日のヨングPSV戦だった。

オランダサッカー協会(KNVB)は7日、エドガー・ダービッツ氏(49)が代表チームのアシスタントコーチに就任したことを発表した。
オランダ代表では先月6日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)後のロナルド・クーマン氏の監督就任が決定した。大会はルイス・ファン・ハール監督が指揮する予定だが、そのアシスタントを務めているヘンク・フレイザー氏が来季からユトレヒトの監督に就任するにあたり、ここで袂を分かつことになった。
その後任としてダービッツ氏が選ばれた。オランダ代表で74キャップを持つ同氏は、W杯に1度、ユーロに3度出場した経歴を持つ。クラブレベルではプロデビューしたアヤックスをはじめ、ミランやユベントス、インテルなど主にセリエAのビッグクラブでプレー。アヤックスではビッグイヤーも獲得している。
コーチングキャリアとしては、現役時代の2012年に加入した当時イングランド4部のバーネットで選手と兼任で監督を務めたことが始まり。2013年末の現役引退と同時に監督も辞任し、以降はオランダ2部のテルスターでアシスタントコーチ、昨年上半期にはポルトガル4部のオリャネンセで監督を務めた。
この度、再び表舞台に戻ってきたダービッツ氏は、「ルイス・ファン・ハールのような監督と一緒にトレーナーとしてキャリアを続け、オランダの絶対的なトップと仕事ができることを誇りに思う。そして、強い熱意でこの仕事に取り組みたいと思う」とコメント。
また、ファン・ハール監督も「私はエドガーにアシスタントコーチになってくれるよう頼んだ。我々はこれまで定期的に顔を合わせてきたが、彼ならこの役割を見事に果たしてくれると確信している」と信頼を言葉を寄せた。

アルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシが、オランダ代表のルイス・ファン・ハール監督への不満をぶちまけた。アルゼンチン『TyC Sports』が伝えた。
9日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)の準々決勝が行われ、アルゼンチンはオランダと対戦した。
8年前の2014年ブラジルW杯では準決勝で対戦した両国。その際にはメッシもプレーし、ファン・ハール監督も指揮を執っていた中、PK戦でアルゼンチンが勝利していた。
今回の試合はオランダにとってはリベンジ、アルゼンチンは優勝を目指した大事な試合に。すると35分にナウエル・モリーナのゴールでアルゼンチンが先制。さらに、73分にはメッシがPKを決めてリードを2点とする。
そのまますんなり勝利するかと思われたが、ファン・ハール監督はパワープレー勝負に。すると83分にクロスからワウト・ヴェグホルストがヘディングで決めると、101分にはFKのサインプレーからヴェグホルストが再びゴール。これで追いつくと、その後は延長戦でも決着つかずにPK戦へ。オランダは2人連続で失敗し、3-4でアルゼンチンが勝利した。
試合後、メッシはインタビューで怒りを露わに。パワープレーを仕掛けてきたファン・ハール監督への不満を口にした。
「何を見ているんだバカ。あっちに行け」
「僕たちはあまりにも不当な苦しみを味わった。ファン・ハールは、自分がサッカーをすることを売りにしていながら、背の高い選手を入れてボールを放り込み出したんだ」
試合終了後には、ファン・ハール監督とメッシが近づき睨み合いに。これにはエドガー・ダーヴィッツ氏が仲裁に入ってなだめていた。
メッシは「あなたは喋りすぎだ」と言ったとされており、ファン・ハール監督の発言に嫌気が差していたのかもしれない。
8年前の再現を行ったアルゼンチン。メッシは残り2試合をプレーすることが可能となり、W杯史上最多となる26試合出場に到達することが可能となった。

カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)の名シーンが早くもタトゥーとなって刻まれたようだ。
初の冬開催、初の中東開催となった今回のW杯。中3日という超過密日程で選手たちは連戦をこなし、ケガ人もいつになく多くでた大会に。また、様々な出来事が世界中で大きな話題となった大会でもある。
日本代表で言えば、“三笘の1ミリ”とされるスペイン代表戦でのラインを割ったかどうかという判定。その他にも、サウジアラビア代表がアルゼンチンに勝利したり、韓国代表がポルトガル代表に勝利してグループステージを土壇場で突破したり、モロッコ代表がベスト4に進出し、アフリカ勢初の快挙を成し遂げたりと、名シーンは数々生まれている。
その中の1つが、準々決勝のオランダ代表vsアルゼンチン代表のワンシーン。イエローカードが乱発する大荒れの試合となったが、アルゼンチンのエースFWリオネル・メッシがゴール後に見せたパフォーマンスが話題となった。
メッシは、オランダのベンチに向かい、両耳に手を当てて見せびらかすポーズ。これは、元アルゼンチン代表MFフアン・ロマン・リケルメが見せたパフォーマンスだが、そのリケルメを批判したことがあるのがオランダ代表のルイス・ファン・ハール監督だった。
また、試合後には持ち味とも言える減らず口を叩いたことに、アルゼンチンの選手たちは怒りを覚えており、試合後には一悶着あるなど後味の悪い試合ともなっていた。
このシーンは、アルゼンチンで早速タトゥーになった様子。「Boris Gibaut Tattoo Studio」に訪れたお客さんが、太ももにこのシーンを彫ったのだ。
これには「天才だ」、「アルゼンチン人はみんな望んでいる」、「こりゃいいや」、「ブラボー!」というコメントや、「これはいくらでできる?」と興味を持っている人も多数いる状況。このシーンの人気ぶりを見る限り、アルゼンチンが優勝したら、カップを掲げるメッシのタトゥーが大流行りしそうだ。
