この時期になると毎年登場するアグリー・クリスマス・セーター。プレゼントやツリーの柄を過剰なまでに編み込んだ悪趣味さを逆に楽しもうとするもので、デザインの“ダサさ”が売りだ。
各クラブもエンブレムなどを施したダサセーターをこぞって販売している中、ベルギー代表も同アイテムを制作。選手たちがモデルとなって着用した。
撮影には、ケビン・デ・ブライネ、アクセル・ヴィツェルのほか、トルガンとエデンのアザール兄弟らも参加。下半身はベルギー代表のショーツにソックスというクールな装いながら、上半身にはこれでもかというほどダサいセーターをまとっている。
さらに、選手たちは2人組でポーズを取っているのだが、もう1人を膝の上に乗せて抱っこしたり、プレゼントを可愛らしく渡したりと面白おかしくポージング。キュート?な写真の数々には、「最高のクリスマスカードだ」、「ルカクがいないぞ」、「とっても可愛い」、「ツッコミどころが多い」、「突き抜けてる(笑)」と多くの反響が集まった。

ベルギー代表GKティボー・クルトワが、チームの不仲説を否定している。
FIFAランキング2位で優勝候補と目されていたベルギーは、初戦のカナダ戦は勝利したものの、続くモロッコ戦は2失点の完封負けを喫し、残り1試合で3位に位置。勝利必須の最終節の相手は前回大会のファイナリストであるクロアチアという厳しい状況に立たされている。
それに呼応するようにベルギー代表は現在、空中分解寸前と言われている。ベルギー『RTL』によれb、あモロッコ戦の後、ケビン・デ・ブライネとヤン・フェルトンゲン、エデン・アザールが口論となり、ロメル・ルカクが割って入るという事件が勃発。
ただ、そのルカクもミッチー・バチュアイと仲が悪く、デ・ブライネはティボー・クルトワと数年ものあいだ口をきいていない状態。エデン・アザールとレアンドロ・トロサールも互いを避ける関係なのだという。
そんな中、12月1日に控えるクロアチア戦に向けた会見に出席したクルトワが不仲説を否定。チーム内で言い争いがあることは普通のことだと主張し、噂は誰かのでっち上げたことだと断言した。
「言い合いをして、雨降って地固まることもある。協力して問題を解決して行くには、机上で言い合ったり、個人やグループで意見を出し合う事は大切だ。問題は、報道されたことが事実とは限らないということだ」
「誰かがリークした? そんなこと知る必要はない。仮にその犯人がいたとしたら、そいつにとって代表での最後の日になる」
「チームには何の問題もない。外部の者が問題を起こそうとしたに過ぎない。もちろん、敗戦の後で誰もハッピーではないけど、木曜日のピッチでは全てを出し切れなければならないことがわかっているから、より一層、僕らは親密になることができるはずだ」

イングランド女子代表DFアレックス・グリーンウッド(マンチェスター・シティ)が試合中に頭部を負傷し、現場は一時騒然とした。
10月31日、UEFA女子ネーションズリーグ(UWNL)グループA1の第4節でベルギー女子代表とイングランド女子代表が対戦した。
事件は前半19分に発生。GKからのフィードをハーフウェイライン付近で競り合うと、ルーズボールに対してイングランドのグリーンウッドが頭でクリアに行くと、そこにベルギーのFWジャシナ・ブロムが突っ込む形に。激しく激突すると、2人ともピッチに倒れ込み、起き上がれなくなった。
特に激突されたグリーンウッドはピクリとも動かず。急いでメディカルチームがピッチに飛び込むと、その場で治療がスタート。約12分間の中断となり、酸素吸入器もつけられるなど深刻な状態となっていた。
そのまま担架に乗せられてピッチを後にしたグリーンウッド。その際にはスタンドから拍手が送られることに。試合後には歩いている姿も目撃されているとのことで、無事なようだ。なおブロムは包帯を巻いた状態でプレーを続けた。
チームメイトのルーシー・ブロンズはイギリス『ITV4』で「彼女が苦しんでいるのを見るのは嬉しくはない」とコメント。「頭部の負傷であることは明らかで、軽視できないもの。ピッチ状ではメディカルチームが素晴らしく、彼女の安全を確認してくれたので、回復を祈るばかりです」とコメントした。
なお、試合はホームのベルギーが早々に先制。その後イングランドが前半のうちに逆転するも、前半アディショナルタイムにベルギーが追いつくと、終盤にはPKでベルギーが逆転。3-2でベルギーが勝利を収めた。
オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)の準優勝チームはこれで4試合を終えて2勝2敗でグループ3位につけている。

レアル・マドリーのベルギー代表GKティボー・クルトワ(30)が交際していたミシェル・ゲルジグさん(25)と婚約したことを発表した。
2018年にチェルシーからレアル・マドリーに加入し、守護神の座に定着しているクルトワ。今シーズンも公式戦51試合に出場すると、チームはラ・リーガで35度目のリーグ優勝を達成。さらにチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)でも4年ぶり14度目の栄冠に輝き、クルトワにとっては初のビッグイヤー獲得となった。
充実のシーズンを過ごしたクルトワだが、プライベートでも充実さをうかがわせた。5日にミシェルさんとともにインスタグラムを更新すると、イタリアのアマルフィ海岸近くに停めた船でプロポーズする様子を公開。200cmと大柄なクルトワがひざまずきながらミシェルさんの指に指輪をはめており、「あなたとの生涯にイエス」と返事を貰ったようだ。
この日はミシェルさんの誕生日だったようで、クルトワは改めて最愛の人にメッセージを送っている。
「未来の妻であり、一番のサポーターでもあり、毎日笑わせてくれる人、そして特にこの素晴らしい子供たちにとって素晴らしい母、ハッピーバースデーを。僕たちのためにしてくれていること全てに、感謝してもしきれないよ!愛してるよ!」
クルトワは2人の子供を産んだスペイン人のパートナーと2016年9月ごろに離婚。ミシェルさんとは2021年8月に堂々の交際宣言をしていた。

インテル残留を望むベルギー代表FWロメル・ルカク(30)だが、そのためには3つの条件が揃わなくてはならない。『フットボール・イタリア』が伝えている。
2021年8月に1億1300万ユーロ(約168億4000万円)の移籍金を残してインテルからチェルシーへと移籍したルカク。しかし、わずか1年後の昨年7月に1年間のレンタル移籍でインテルへと帰ってきた。
再加入からしばらくはケガの影響もあって本領発揮といかなかったが、先月23日のエンポリ戦で2ゴール1アシストを記録したことをきっかけに調子が回復。エンポリ戦からのセリエA5試合で6ゴール3アシストを叩き出している。
かねてよりレンタル期間の延長、もしくはインテルへの完全移籍移行を熱望してきたルカクにとっては、この勢いのままシーズン最後まで突っ走りたいところ。今季もセリエAの2試合、コッパ・イタリア決勝戦の1試合、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)決勝戦の1試合を残すのみとなっている。
一方、インテルの財務状況を考えればチェルシーからの完全移籍移行は難しく、レンタル期間の1年延長が現実的。ルカク本人は残留のために給与カットを受け入れる覚悟ができているようだが、イタリア『ガゼッタ・デッロ・スポルト』いわく、給与カット以外にも2つの条件がマストだという。
それはインテルが来季のCL出場権を確保すること、チェルシーが800万ユーロ(約11億9000万円)のレンタル料を値下げすること。インテルはCL出場によって財源を増やせてもなお、800万ユーロを支払うのが難しいという状況だ。
給与カット、CL出場権、レンタル料値下げ。1つ目の条件をほぼクリアしている以上、次はCL出場権を確保し、シーズン後にチェルシーとの交渉に臨むといったところだろうか。
