チェルシーは15日、2024-25シーズンの新ユニフォームを発表した。
2024-25シーズンはエンツォ・マレスカ監督を新たに迎え、再スタートを図るチェルシー。近年は大きな投資をして選手を補強しているものの、肝心のフットボール面がピリッとせずに苦しいシーズンが続いている。
再び監督を交代し、チームの立て直しを図りにいく中、サプライヤーのナイキと共に発表した新ユニフォームは大胆な新デザインとなった。
新たなエネルギー、新たな情熱、そして新たな熱意をもたらす新体制のチェルシー。目玉は鮮やかな青色で、炎の最も熱い部分と、ピッチ内外での成功という共通の野望のもとでクラブ全体を団結させる燃えるような情熱を象徴している。
また、ユニークなタッチを加えるオレンジ色のアクセントカラーは、クラブのランクに湧き上がる異なる種類の情熱を表している。
炎の揺らぎのような波を打つデザインだが、現地のファンからは酷評が殺到。「これまでで最悪のキット」、「過去20年で最悪だ」、「ひどすぎる」、「ナイキはやめた方が良い」、「深刻な問題」、「コンセプトは良いがデザインは最悪」、「本気なのか?」、「選手はもっと似合うと思っていたけど…」、「炎にしたら本当に燃えてしまう」と、厳しい声が集まってしまった。

サウサンプトンはマンチェスター・シティのアシスタントコーチを務めるエンツォ・マレスカ氏(43)に指揮官就任のオファーを断られたようだ。イギリス『フットボール・インサイダー』が伝えている。
今季序盤戦から低迷が続き、昨年11月にラルフ・ハーゼンヒュットル監督を、今年2月にネイサン・ジョーンズ監督を解任しているサウサンプトン。現在はコーチのルベン・セジェス氏(39)が暫定的に指揮を執っているものの、来季のチャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部)降格が決まり、シーズン後の退任が決定している状況だ。
一方、マレスカ氏はシティでジョゼップ・グアルディオラ監督の副官を担う人物。かつてユベントスやフィオレンティーナ、セビージャ、ウェストブロムウィッチ・アルビオン(WBA)などでプレーしたイタリア人の元サッカー選手だ。
引退後は古巣セビージャやウェストハムなどでコーチを務めた後、2020年8月から1年間、シティのU-23チームを指揮。パルマの指揮官就任によってシティを離れるも昨年7月に復帰し、グアルディオラ監督率いるファーストチームの一員となった。
シティが今季のプレミアリーグを制したことで指導者キャリアにおけるトップリーグ初タイトルを獲得したマレスカ氏だが、その裏ではつい先日、サウサンプトンから届いた指揮官就任オファーを拒絶。これを受けたサウサンプトンはスウォンジー・シティを率いるラッセル・マーティン監督(37)の引き抜きにシフトし、こちらは大筋合意まで漕ぎ着けたという。
シティで事実上のナンバー2に君臨するマレスカ氏。コーチと監督という役割の違いはあれど、今季のトレブルにも可能性を残すチームから2部リーグのチームへという選択肢はなかったようだ。

チェルシーの新監督が本日3日にも決まるようだ。
わずか1年でマウリシオ・ポチェッティーノ監督との別れを決め、後任が注目どころのチェルシー。その後任はというと、マンチェスター・シティでジョゼップ・グアルディオラ監督のアシスタントコーチを歴任し、今季から率いたレスター・シティを1年でプレミアリーグ復帰に導いたエンツォ・マレスカ氏(44)で決まりとされる。
チェルシーが招へいとなれば、2026年夏まで契約を残すレスターからの引き抜きとなるため、補償金が最大の焦点だったが、イギリス『The Athletic』によると、両クラブは2日に1000万ポンド(約20億円)程度の額で合意。レスターはマレスカ氏にもチェルシーと話す許可をし、3日にも発表がなされる予定だという。
なお、チェルシーとマレスカ氏の契約は1年延長オプション付きの5年。マレスカ氏は現役時代にシティのほか、チェルシーなどでもプレーしたウィリー・カバジェロ氏ら6名をスタッフとして連れていくそうだ。

チェルシーはU-23スペイン代表FWサム・オモロディオン(20)の獲得について、アトレティコ・マドリーと合意に至ったとのことだ。
エンツォ・マレスカ監督の下で、今夏も忙しい移籍市場となっているチェルシー。すでにGKフィリップ・ヨルゲンセンやDFトシン・アダラバイヨ、MFキーナン・デューズバリー=ホールを獲得しており、現在はストライカー確保を模索している。
そんな中で、候補に浮上したのがオモロディオンだ。昨シーズンはレンタル先のアラベスで35試合8ゴールとまずまずの成績を残し、U-23スペイン代表としてもパリ・オリンピックに出場するなど将来有望なストライカー獲得に向け、交渉が開始されていた。
移籍市場に精通するジャーナリストのファブリツィオ・ロマーノ氏によると、両クラブは移籍金3500万ポンド(約71億円)で合意に至ったとのこと。オモロディオンもすでに7年契約で合意と報じられている。
現在はメディカルチェックに向けた準備が進められている模様。すべてが順調に進めば、近日中に正式発表される見込みとなっている。

チェルシーが、クリスタル・パレスにレンタル移籍させたDFトレヴォ・チャロバー(25)を呼び戻すことにしたようだ。イギリス『BBC』が伝えた。
チェルシーの下部組織で育ったチャロバーは、イプスウィッチ・タウンやハダースフィールド・タウン、ロリアンへのレンタル移籍を経験。2021年7月にファーストチームに昇格した。
エンツォ・マレスカ監督が就任した今シーズンは、プレシーズンの段階で構想外に。チームに居場所がないとされた中、クリスタル・パレスへとレンタル移籍。ここまでプレミアリーグで12試合3得点、EFLカップ(カラバオカップ)で2試合に出場していた。
そんな中、チェルシーはディフェンスラインにケガ人が続出したことを受け、チャロバーを早期に呼び戻すことを決断したとのこと。15日に行われるプレミアリーグ第21節のレスター・シティ戦ではクリスタル・パレスで起用できないこととなった。
チャロバーのレンタル移籍に関しては、1月末までに呼び戻せる条項が存在。ヴェスレイ・フォファナ、ブノア・バディアシルがケガで離脱となったことを受け、マレスカ監督が呼び戻しを決断。14日に伝えたとされている。
一方で、突然ディフェンスラインの主軸を失うこととなってしまったクリスタル・パレス。オリバー・グラスナー監督は「契約上の問題」と語るの止め、「彼はここに留まりたいと望んでいるが、チェルシーが決断を下す」とチェルシー次第だと語っていた。
