テレビ朝日の三谷紬アナウンサーがフランクフルトに所属する日本代表MF鎌田大地の身長に驚いている。
『ABEMA(アベマ)』の『サッカー日本代表独占インタビュー THE VOICE』第3回が7月27日に放送され、日本代表MF柴崎岳(レガネス)と鎌田が登場。三谷アナウンサーが鎌田のインタビューを担当した。
今回が鎌田との初対面だったという三谷アナウンサーだが、まずはその身長(184cm)に驚いたという。自身のインスタグラムに当日の2ショットを投稿している。
「鎌田選手のインタビューを担当しました。お目にかかるのは今回が初めて。まずは何よりも身長の高さに驚きました!テレビで見ている何倍も大きい!‼写真でも伝わりますよね、これでも私ヒールを履いていました。ついついご本人にも言ってしまいました」
また、インタビューまでは鎌田を怖いと思っていたとのこと。だが、会話の中でその印象も覆ったようだ。
「また、勝手に怖そう…という印象があって、インタビュー前からドキドキでしたが、お話ししてみると本当に気さくで関西出身者特有のノリもあり…!」

日本サッカー協会(JFA)の公式SNSが日本代表選手たちのスーツ姿を投稿し、話題となっている。
今月の代表ウィークでは国内で2つの国際親善試合に臨む日本。13日のMIZUHO BLUE DREAM MATCH 2023でカナダ代表戦に臨み、17日のキリンチャレンジカップ2023でチュニジア代表と対戦する。
千葉で合宿を行っていた日本代表は、13日の試合に向けて12日に新潟へと移動。日本代表のオフィシャルスーツを提供しているダンヒル(dunhill) のオフィシャルスーツ『2023 SAMURAI BLUE COLLECTION』を着用し、新幹線で移動した。
JFAの公式SNSは、移動時の選手たちの姿をアップ。多くの選手たちの写真がアップされているが、その中でも一際注目を集めているのが、DF谷口彰悟(アル・ラーヤン)だ。
ファンからは「田中碧は就活中の大学生みたい。そして谷口はエース営業マンの風格」、「谷口この角度から取られてこの完成度ってなにごと?!」、「しょごさんはいつでもスタイリッシュにスーツを着こなす。素敵」、「谷口スーツ姿カッコ良すぎる」と谷口の着こなしとスーツ姿に絶賛の声があがっている。
また、JFAは谷口の写真とともに、MF旗手怜央(セルティック)、MF守田英正(スポルティングCP)、MF田中碧(デュッセルドルフ)、DF板倉滉(ボルシアMG)の写真も投稿。谷口を含む全員が川崎フロンターレ出身の選手ということもあり、「フロ上がり写真特集ありがとうございます」、「フロンターレ出身選手ハッピーセット」といった声もあがっていた。
11月には2026年の北中米ワールドカップ(W杯)のアジア2次予選兼AFCアジアカップサウジアラビア2027予選が行われるため、貴重な親善試合となるこの2試合。日本代表は勝利を掴めるか。

スポルティングCPのスウェーデン代表FWヴィクトル・ギョケレシュが2024年で最も多くのゴールを挙げた。
日本代表MF守田英正も所属するスポルティングで、エースとして活躍する26歳ストライカー。2024-25シーズンは公式戦27試合で27ゴール6アシストを記録している。
ポルトガル『RTP』によると、2023-24シーズンの後半、2024-25シーズンの前半を合わせた1年間では、代表戦も含め公式戦63試合62ゴールを記録。2024年の世界得点王となった。
内訳はスポルティングで56試合52ゴール、スウェーデン代表で7試合10ゴール。シーズンで区切ると2023-24シーズン後半は30試合26ゴール、2024-25シーズン前半は33試合36ゴールとなった。
直近10年間で60ゴール以上を挙げたのはギョケレシュとポーランド代表FWロベルト・レヴァンドフスキ(現:バルセロナ)のみ。レヴァンドフスキはバイエルンに所属していた2021年に69ゴールを奪っている。
なお、21世紀における最高記録は、アルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシ(現:インテル・マイアミ)。バルセロナ時代の2012年に69試合で91ゴールという圧巻の数字を残し、元ドイツ代表FWゲルト・ミュラー氏の85ゴール(1972年)も上回った。
2023年7月にチャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部)のコヴェントリー・シティからスポルティングへ移籍し、さらなる飛躍を遂げているギョケレシュ。1億ユーロ(約163億7000万円)の契約解除条項が存在するものの、多くのビッグクラブから関心が寄せられている。

20日、2026年北中米ワールドカップ(W杯)アジア最終予選第7節のバーレーン代表戦に臨む日本代表のスターティングメンバーが発表された。
ここまで6試合を戦い、5勝1分けの無敗で首位を独走している日本。バーレーンに勝利すれば8大会連続8度目のW杯出場が決定。3試合を残しての決定は史上最速となる。
ホームでの一戦となるバーレーン戦は順当に主力組がスタメンに並ぶことに。GKは鈴木彩艶、3バックは板倉滉、瀬古歩夢、伊藤洋輝が並んだ。
ボランチは遠藤航と守田英正となり、右ウイングバックに堂安律、左に三笘薫が入り、シャドーは久保建英と南野拓実。1トップは上田綺世となった。
なお、DF長友佑都、DF関根大輝、MF藤田譲瑠チマ、FW古橋亨梧がベンチ外となっている。

日本代表FW上田綺世(セルクル・ブルージュ)の身体能力が衝撃を与えている。
28日、キリンチャレンジカップ2023でコロンビア代表と対戦した日本。開始3分にMF三笘薫のゴールで幸先良く先制に成功したものの、33分に同点弾を許した。後半は押し込まれる展開が続くと、61分にコロンビアのFWラファエル・ボレに豪快なオーバーヘッドを叩き込まれ、終盤は盛り返したもののそのまま1-2で敗れた。
24日のウルグアイ代表戦に続きベンチスタートだった上田は、コロンビア戦では後半頭からの出場。日本が押し込まれる展開の中、後半の中盤に見せ場を作った。
追いかける展開となった後の67分、左サイドから守田英正(スポルティングCP)が柔らかいクロスを上げると、ゴール前で待ち構えた上田が高い打点のヘディングシュート。渾身のシュートはゴールかと思われたが、GKカミーロ・バルガスのファインセーブに阻まれていた。
上田は続く69分にも伊東純也(スタッド・ランス)の左CKにヘディングで合わせて再びその身体能力を発揮していた。
その跳躍力はSNS上で大きな話題を呼んでいたが、サッカー日本代表の公式ツイッターがピッチレベルから上田のシュートを捉えた動画を投稿。選手と同じ目線からの映像ではより上田のジャンプの高さが際立っており、ファンからも「身体能力高すぎる」、「よくよく見ると打点高い上にフィジカルもぶっ飛んでるな」、「サイドからの視点だと、より上田選手の高さがわかる」、「この視点が1番跳びすぎてるのが分かって好き」と驚きと称賛の言葉が集まっている。
代表初ゴールは叶わなかった上田だが、持ち味を発揮し存在感を放っていた。
