■「まず守備から」。後藤が体現したチームファースト
森保監督から告げられたのは、シンプルなひと言だった。
「まず守備から。ゼロで抑えるためにハードワークしてほしい」
26番を背負った191cmのストライカーがピッチに入ったのは後半31分。ファーストプレーで相手DFを背負った状態でボールを収めると、その後は相手のパス回しを全力で追いかけた。
後半40分、ゴール前でMF佐野海舟からの縦パスを受けると、走り込んできたMF佐藤龍之介へワンタッチで落とす。
「龍が勢いを持って入ってきたのが見えてたので。自分はゴールに背を向けていたし、前向きの選手をシンプルに使いました」
その1分後には右サイドからのクロスに飛び込んだ。惜しくも相手のクリアに阻まれたが、動き出しの質には手応えがあった。
「昨日の練習で(菅原)由勢くんがいいクロスを上げてたので、来るなと思ってました。ああいう形は続けていきたい」
ストライカーである以上、“結果”は常に求められる。だが後藤は、チームの秩序の中で自分を活かす選択をした。
「結果を出すこと、チームに求められること、どんなバランスでプレーしていましたか?」と聞くと、後藤は迷うことなく答えた。
「チームに求められていることしか考えていないです。それをやった結果、ゴールはついてくると思っています」
限られた時間の中で、ストライカーとしての嗅覚とチームプレーのバランスを見せた。
■黒髪に戻して、もう一度スタートラインへ
日本代表に合流した時は金髪だった後藤だが、豊田スタジアムのピッチには黒髪で現れた。シント=トロイデンVVのチームメート・谷口彰悟と一緒に美容室に行って黒に染め直したと明かした。
「初代表ですし、もう一回スタートだなと思って。プロになった時の気持ちを思い出したかった」
デビューの夜に合わせて、自分自身をリセットする。そこには、本気でW杯に出場するという決意が滲んでいた。
森保ジャパンでは、センターフォワード争いが熾烈だ。FW上田綺世、FW小川航基、FW町野修斗らがしのぎを削る中で、後藤はサプライズ選出を狙う。
「次は国立。今日よりお客さんも入ると思うので、その中で結果を残したい。森保(一)さんに“使いたい”と思わせるプレーをしたい」
チームファーストでありながら、ストライカーとしての本能を隠さない。
そして、同世代の仲間たち——佐藤、MF北野颯太と共にピッチに立った時間も、新しい刺激を与えた。
「急にすごく若くなったので、アンダー世代(の代表)なのかと思ったぐらいですけど、自分たちが引っ張っていかないといけない」
20歳のFWは言葉を選びながら、確かな責任感を見せた。ガーナ戦での数分間は、単なる“デビュー”ではない。チームの中でエゴを磨き、大舞台へ感覚を研ぎ澄ませる、若きストライカーの“始まり”だった。

川崎フロンターレがゴールデンウィークの企画として用意したイベントにあの選手がコメントを寄せて大きな話題となっている。
今シーズンはなかなか苦しいシーズンとなっている川崎F。それでも、直近2試合で勝利を収め、今シーズン初の連勝。徐々に復調傾向を見せている。
その川崎Fは、7日にサガン鳥栖をホームに迎える中、「ワンダーニャンド」としてスタジアムでのイベントを実施。その中で「ハラハラドキドキDOGSO(走)タイムレース!」が実施される。
「DOG(犬)」とかけたこのイベントだが、「DOGSO」と言えば、決定機阻止で一発退場の対象となるプレーを表す、「Denying an Obvious Goal Scoring Opportunity」の頭文字をとったもの。そして、その代名詞とも言われてしまっているのは、川崎フロンターレで長らくプレーした日本代表DF谷口彰悟だ。
自身の嫌いなものに「DOGSO」をあげるほどだが、今回のイベントも完全に谷口を意識したもの。現在はカタールのアル・ラーヤンでプレーしているOBをいじっていた。
その川崎Fは開催が近づく中、さらに盛大にイジリを敢行。なんと、「「DOGSO」と言えば、、この選手しか居ませんよね」と、このイベントに対して谷口本人にコメントを要求していたのだ。
谷口はビデオメッセージでイベントについて語っている。
「川崎フロンターレサポーターのみなさんお久しぶりです。アル・ラーヤンSCのの谷口彰悟です。今回、ゴールデンウィークイベント『ワンダーニャンド』でDOGSOをもじった企画、「DOGSO(走)タイムレース!」が実施されると聞きました」
「DOGSOといえばという感じでコメントを要求され、スタッフもいじってきちゃってるなと思いつつも、僕自身大分お世話になってますし、今シーズンフロンターレも大分お世話になっていると思います」
「それをイベントにしちゃうフロンターレは流石だなと感心しています」
「何はともあれ、楽しいイベントであることは間違いないと思うので、ぜひ当日会場に足を運んで皆さん楽しんでください」
谷口の言う通り、今シーズンの川崎FはDOGSOのお世話になっており、ジェジエウ、山村和也が退場処分を受けていた。
これにはファンも「公式がいじるとは」、「Mr.DOGSO」、「さすがフロンターレ」、「なにさせてんのw」、「新しい角度のいじり」、「どんだけ良い人なの」、「お世話になっている方」とコメントを寄せている。

日本代表DF谷口彰悟の普段とは違う姿が話題となっている。
川崎フロンターレ一筋でプレーしていた谷口は、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)前の2021年に久々に日本代表に復帰。すると、最終予選を含めて定着すると、カタールW杯にも出場を果たした。
W杯後、カタールのアル・ラーヤンに完全移籍。初めて海外でのプレーに挑戦すると、その後も日本代表としてプレーを続けている。
9月の欧州遠征でも2試合に出場した谷口。その谷口が、サッカー以外の舞台でも活躍して見せた。
谷口が契約するプーマは11日、PUMA GOLF からト レンドやファッションに敏感なゴルファーに向けた厚底シューズに合うニュースタイリングの「P コレクション」を発表した。
サッカーではなくゴルフの部門でアンバサダーに採用された谷口。元ミスユニバ ース・ジャパン日本代表の阿部桃子さんを起用と共にモデルも務めた。
フリースやニットを着用したモデル姿がインスタグラムで公開された中、ファンは「このモデルさん…誰??って思うほどイケメン」、「そろそろ絶命してしまう」、「ユニフォームとは違った雰囲気でいい感じ」、「かっこよすぎる」、「めっちゃカッコイイ」、「一瞬息が止まった」、「モデルすぎる!!」、「イケメンすぎ」と称賛のコメントが集まった。

日本サッカー協会(JFA)の公式SNSが日本代表選手たちのスーツ姿を投稿し、話題となっている。
今月の代表ウィークでは国内で2つの国際親善試合に臨む日本。13日のMIZUHO BLUE DREAM MATCH 2023でカナダ代表戦に臨み、17日のキリンチャレンジカップ2023でチュニジア代表と対戦する。
千葉で合宿を行っていた日本代表は、13日の試合に向けて12日に新潟へと移動。日本代表のオフィシャルスーツを提供しているダンヒル(dunhill) のオフィシャルスーツ『2023 SAMURAI BLUE COLLECTION』を着用し、新幹線で移動した。
JFAの公式SNSは、移動時の選手たちの姿をアップ。多くの選手たちの写真がアップされているが、その中でも一際注目を集めているのが、DF谷口彰悟(アル・ラーヤン)だ。
ファンからは「田中碧は就活中の大学生みたい。そして谷口はエース営業マンの風格」、「谷口この角度から取られてこの完成度ってなにごと?!」、「しょごさんはいつでもスタイリッシュにスーツを着こなす。素敵」、「谷口スーツ姿カッコ良すぎる」と谷口の着こなしとスーツ姿に絶賛の声があがっている。
また、JFAは谷口の写真とともに、MF旗手怜央(セルティック)、MF守田英正(スポルティングCP)、MF田中碧(デュッセルドルフ)、DF板倉滉(ボルシアMG)の写真も投稿。谷口を含む全員が川崎フロンターレ出身の選手ということもあり、「フロ上がり写真特集ありがとうございます」、「フロンターレ出身選手ハッピーセット」といった声もあがっていた。
11月には2026年の北中米ワールドカップ(W杯)のアジア2次予選兼AFCアジアカップサウジアラビア2027予選が行われるため、貴重な親善試合となるこの2試合。日本代表は勝利を掴めるか。
