FCソウルの元イングランド代表MFジェシー・リンガードは肝入りの事業が廃業を余儀なくされたようだ。イギリス『サン』が報じる。
かつてマンチェスター・ユナイテッドでのプロ入りからイングランド代表にも上り詰め、長きにわたるプレミアリーグでのプレーを経て、昨年2月からは韓国を舞台とするリンガード。ピッチを離れれば、自身のファッションブランド『JLingz』を展開する経営者としての一面を持つ。
その立ち上げはロシア・ワールドカップ(W杯)開幕前の2018年夏。当時、ユナイテッドの先輩OBであるギャリー・ネビル氏から「今季最大の試合であるリバプールとのアウェイ戦を前に服のブランドを立ち上げるのはやめろ」との声も上がるなかの副業だったが、失敗したという。
自身の顔前で両指を立てるゴールパフォーマンスを模したマークを商標登録し、衣類から靴、帽子の販売を手がけ、かれこれ6年半が経つが、事業開始から赤字続き。最新の決算書によると、27万6883ポンド(約5400万円)の負債が計上され、このたび、畳む運びとなった模様だ。
選手のアパレルブランド展開といえば、ポルトガル代表FWクリスティアーノ・ロナウドの成功が代表的だが、リンガードは惹きつける何かが足りなかったようだ。

元韓国代表MFパク・チソン氏(43)が全北現代のテクニカル・ディレクター(TD)職を辞任へ。韓国『東亜日報』が伝える。
京都パープルサンガ(現:京都サンガF.C.)やPSV、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドなどで活躍し、韓国代表では通算100キャップを誇るレジェンド、パク・チソン氏。
現役引退後はユナイテッドのアンバサダー、QPRの育成コーチを務めた一方、21年1月にKリーグ1屈指の強豪・全北でアドバイザーとなり、22年9月にはTD職となった。
現役時代に母国クラブでプレーしたことのない氏にとって、初のKリーグとなったわけだが、『東亜日報』によると23日、複数の同国サッカー関係者が「全北はパク・チソンTDの後任を探している」と明かしたという。
パク・チソン氏は21日に韓国を出国しているといい、現在はイギリス・ロンドンに滞在しているとのこと。出国に先立ち、全北に対して辞任の意向を伝えていたとされる。
今季の全北は近年稀にみる低迷。
2009〜20年の12年間で「8度」ものKリーグ1優勝を成し遂げた名門だが、今季は第24節を消化して12チーム中11位。ボトムハーフの6チームで争われる「降格ラウンド」行きが現実味を帯びている。
また、序盤戦で解任されたダン・ペトレスク前監督は、昨季途中にパク・チソン氏がTDとして招聘。全北関係者は「低迷の原因はパク・チソン氏だけではない」と話しているというが、辞任意向は低迷を受けてのものとされている。
ただ、現時点では全北がパク・チソン氏の辞任を受理していないとのこと。TD職の離脱はさておき、アドバイザーとしてクラブに留めるアイデアなど、選手からの人望が厚い氏の慰留に必死とみられている。

Kリーグ1のFCソウルでプレーする元イングランド代表MFジェシー・リンガードが罰金処分を受けることとなった。韓国『聯合ニュース』が伝えた。
リンガードはマンチェスター・ユナイテッドの下部組織育ちで、レスター・シティやバーミンガム・シティ、ブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオン、ダービー・カウンティ、ウェストハムでプレー。ノッティンガム・フォレストを2023年7月に退団していた。
2024年2月にFCソウルに加入。初めてイングランド国外に出ると、Kリーグ1では18試合で4ゴールを記録するなど、まずまずの結果を残していた。
しかし、そのリンガードは思ってもみない事態に巻き込まれることに。なんと、無免許運転をしてしまい、罰金処分を課されていた。
『聯合ニュース』によれば、リンガードは16日に自身のSNSに電動キックボードに乗る映像を投稿。しかし、ヘルメットをつけておらず、さらに無免許での運転であったことで違反していた。
リンガードは、2023年9月にイングランドで飲酒運転をしており、18カ月間の免停処分中。電動キックボードに免許が必要だったことを知らなかったようだが、さらには逆走もしていたことが判明していた。
リンガードは18日の夜にソウル江南警察署に出頭。飲酒運転も疑われているが、時間が経過し過ぎているために罪に問うことは難しい状況。リンガードは17日に自身のSNSで釈明していた。
「電動キックボードにしばらく乗っていた。ヘルメットを着用しなければいけないという規定を知らなかった。さらに、運転免許所有者だけが乗ることができるということも知らなかった」
なお、リンガードに対しては様々な違反を受けて19万ウォン(約2万円)の罰金処分が課されたという。

トッテナムは28日、Kリーグ1の江原FCからU-17韓国代表MFヤン・ミンヒョク(18)を完全移籍で獲得することで合意したことを発表した。
契約期間は2023年夏までの6年間。2025年1月からトッテナムに加入となり、労働許可証と国際移籍証明書をもっての正式契約となる。
左右のウイングを主戦場とするヤン・ミンヒョクは、韓国期待の若手アタッカー。今シーズンはKリーグ1でデビューを果たし、25試合に出場し8ゴール4アシストを記録している。
世代別の韓国代表を経験しており、U-17韓国代表としては18試合に出場し1ゴールを記録。2023年のU-17ワールドカップにも出場していた。
大先輩である韓国代表FWソン・フンミンがいるトッテナムへの加入。27日には日本でヴィッセル神戸と対戦したトッテナムは、28日に韓国入りし、アンジェ・ポステコグルー監督らもヤン・ミンヒョクと対面している。
