マンチェスター・シティは26日、イングランド女子代表FWローレン・ヘンプ(23)との契約延長を発表した。新契約は3年間で2027年までとなる。

2018年にブリストル・シティから加入したヘンプは、シティの主軸としてガレス・テイラー監督のチームに欠かせない選手であり、公式戦157試合で65ゴールを記録。2019年に女子FAカップ、2022年にリーグカップで優勝を経験している。

PFA年間最優秀若手選手賞を4度も受賞しており、イングランド女子代表としても55キャップを記録。若くして多くの経験と、実績を残している。

ヘンプはクラブを通じて契約延長にコメントしている。

「これは特別なチームです。自分のゲームを次のレベルに引き上げたいと思っていますし、ここならそれができると感じています。WSLは参加するのに最高のリーグです」

長谷川唯が2年連続PFA年間ベストイレブン選出! 最優秀選手賞は逃すもチームメイトが受賞
