パリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)から完全移籍する運びになったネイマール。契約期間は2025年までの2年間で2年間の給与は3億ドル(約436億円)となり、各種アドオンや商業契約によっては総額4億ドル(約582億円)を受け取る大型契約になるとされている。

それだけにネイマールにかかる期待も大きいようで、19日にキング・ファハド国際スタジアムで入団セレモニーが実施。その盛大さが話題となっている。

同じく新加入のブラジル代表FWマウコムとモロッコ代表GKボノに続いての登場となったネイマール。まずは東京五輪を彷彿させるようなドローンによる空中ショーで、夜空にサッカーゲーム『FIFA』シリーズを彷彿とさせるようなビジュアルが浮かびだされると、華やかなライトアップと演出の中で本人が登場。スタジアムに足を運んだファンからは一際大きな歓声が送られた。

この豪華な歓迎には、ファンからも「東京五輪じゃん」、「規模が桁違い」、「世界一」、「圧巻だ」と反響が集まっていた。

ただ、ネイマールは現在軽傷を負っているようで、新天地デビューはおよそ1カ月後になる見込みだ。
