ユベントスがビジャレアルのスペイン代表DFパウ・トーレス(26)との間で個人間合意に達しているようだ。スペイン『Fichajes』が伝えている。

チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)でビジャレアルのベスト4進出に貢献した昨シーズンの活躍が記憶に新しいパウ・トーレス。カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)の日本代表戦にも出場していた左利きセンターバックは、若手の頃にマラガへと武者修行した1年間を除き、下部組織時代からビジャレアル一筋だ。

今シーズンも最終ラインの欠かせぬ戦力として活躍し、ここまで公式戦35試合に出場。一方で、ここ数年は夏の移籍市場が近づくたびにビッグクラブ行きが噂されており、2021年の夏はトッテナム、昨夏はユベントスのほか、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドなどへの移籍が注目された。

どうやらユベントスは昨夏以降もパウ・トーレス獲得にこだわり続けているようで、スペイン『スポルト』によると、すでに選手側とは条件面などで大筋合意済み。近日中に始まるとされるクラブ間交渉を残すのみとなっているという。

一方で、ユベントスはセンターバックの補強候補をパウ・トーレス1人に絞っているわけではない模様。その理由について、移籍市場に精通するジャーナリストのファブリツィオ・ロマーノ氏は、両者が接触しているのは確かだが、資金力で太刀打ちできない他のビッグクラブから横槍が入る可能性もあるためだと解説している。

パウ・トーレスのリリース条項は、財政難のユベントスが簡単に手を出せないであろう5000万ユーロ(約73億9000万円)。しかし、選手とビジャレアルの契約が2024年6月までとなっているなか、延長交渉は行われていないため、現段階では獲得のチャンスも十分にあると考えられている。

1チームに1人欲しかった“万能型サイドバック”、ジャンルカ・ザンブロッタ
