「また挑戦したい」ティエリ・アンリが監督業再開を見据える「ナンバー2はもういい」

レジェンドのティエリ・アンリ氏が、監督業再開の願望を明らかにした。

アンリ氏は2014年の現役引退後、アーセナルのU-18から指導者キャリアをスタート。2016年8月からはベルギー代表のロベルト・マルティネス監督のアシスタントコーチに就任し、ロシア・ワールドカップなどに参加した。

初めて監督としてチームを指揮することになったのは、2018年10月に就任したモナコ。現役のアーセナル時代の後輩だったセスク・ファブレガスを獲得するなど期待が持たれたが、全く結果が出せず、就任からわずか103日後に解任の憂き目に遭った。

その後はMLSのモントリオール・インパクトでおよそ1年3カ月の間、指揮を執った後、再びベルギー代表でマルティネス監督のACに復帰。昨年のカタールW杯でもベンチに座ったが、グループステージ敗退に終わり、指揮官の退任に伴い自身も身を引いた。

現在はフリーだが、アメリカ代表との関連の噂がちらついているアンリ氏。アメリカ『CBS Sport』の番組に出演した際、その件について明言は避けたものの、再びチームを率いる願望は隠さなかった。

「自分が候補に入るかって? 何よりもまず、ここで話すのは難しいね」

「ロベルト・マルティネスはポルトガル代表の監督になったが、私は彼についていくつもりはない。ナンバー2であることは、もう私のやりたいことではないんだ」

ベルギー代表の新指揮官がルディ・ガルシア監督に決定! 昨季序盤はナポリを指揮
