2人は、22日にエミレーツ・スタジアムで行われたプレミアリーグ第21節のーセナルvsマンチェスター・ユナイテッドの一戦をスタンドで観戦。ユナイテッドOBであるベッカムはもちろんユナイテッドを、かつてアーセナルの下部組織でプレーし、現在はブレントフォードに所属するロメオはアーセナルを応援した。

試合は、ユナイテッドが先制に成功するも、アーセナルがすぐさま同点に追い付くと、1-1で折り返し。後半にも互いにゴールが生まれ、2-2で迎えた90分にアーセナルのFWエディ・エンケティアが値千金の決勝点を奪い、リーグ首位を走るアーセナルが熱戦を制した。

試合後、ロメオは自身のインスタグラムを更新。「ぐっすり眠ってね、父さん」と投稿。そこには笑顔のロメオと、対照的な悲しそうな表情を浮かべるベッカム氏の2ショットが添えられており、「お父さんかわいそうに(笑)」、「いい写真」、「ハハ!最高だ」とファンも反応していた。

19年ぶりのプレミアリーグ制覇に向けて大きな勝ち点3を手にしたアーセナル。シーズン終了後にもロメオは笑顔でいられるだろうか。
