守護神のリヴァコビッチを擁するクロアチアは9日のカタールW杯準々決勝でブラジル代表と激突。0-0の延長前半に先制を許しながら、そこから追いつき、PK戦に持ち込むと、4-2で勝負を決した。

クロアチアはラウンド16の日本代表戦に続いてのPK勝ち。ブラジルとの決勝戦でもリヴァコヴィッチのPKストッパーぶりが光り、相手キッカーの一番手だったFWロドリゴ・ゴエスのシュートを止めた。
流れのなかでも好守を披露して、トータルの活躍も見事なリヴァコビッチはこれで日本戦のものを含め、4本のPKストップに成功。データ分析会社『Opta』によると、その数はW杯史の最多タイ記録だという。

所属先は母国屈指の強豪ディナモ・ザグレブだが、W杯での活躍で脚光を浴びる存在と化すリヴァコビッチ。27歳という年齢面からも、大会後の移籍話でも名が挙がりそうだ。

夫には早く引退してほしい!?モドリッチと妻の仲良しエピソード

「史上最悪」「恥ずかしい」伝統の市松模様が史上最大サイズになったクロアチアの新ユニフォームには酷評の嵐「これ以上酷いものは見たことがない」
