オランダGKノペルト、メッシのPKを阻止できるか問われ「メッシだって…」

オランダ代表GKアンドリース・ノペルトが、対戦を控えるアルゼンチン代表の絶対的エース、リオネル・メッシに言及した。ポルトガル『A Bola』が伝えている。

カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)のグループAを首位通過し、決勝トーナメント1回戦ではアメリカ代表を3-1で下したオランダ代表。9日に行われる準々決勝ではベスト4を懸け、アルゼンチン代表と対戦する。

そんな同代表において、注目度が上昇している選手の1人がここまで全4試合に出場する28歳のGKノペルト。大会までに国際Aマッチの出場経験がなかったにも関わらず、4試合で2失点と、安定したパフォーマンスが高く評価されている。

そのノペルトはアルゼンチン代表戦を控えるなか、今大会の目標を問われ「W杯制覇」と断言。また、同代表のメッシにPKを与えてしまった場合、そのキックを阻止する自信があるかと問われると大きな自信をのぞかせた。

「メッシだって失敗することはあるさ。僕もみんなと同じようにカタールでの彼を見てきた。彼も他の人間と同じく、足でボールを扱い、足でシュートを放つ。いたって普通のことさ。(対戦時に)ペナルティの機会はあるかもしれない」

メッシはグループステージ第2戦のポーランド代表戦でPKを相手GKに阻止されており、ノペルトはそれを引き合いにした格好に。オランダ代表とアルゼンチン代表の注目の一戦は9日28時00分(日本時間)から行われる。

メッシと妻は30年来の仲、幼馴染の2人が結ばれW杯で優勝するまで

京都が元オランダ代表DFを獲得か? ファン・ベークが日本行きに関心とGMが明かす「選手の希望は明らか」
