バルセロナ・フェミニのキャプテンを務めるスペイン女子代表MFアレクシア・プテジャスが重傷を負った。スペインサッカー連盟(RFEF)が発表した。

2021年の女子バロンドールの受賞者であり、世界最高の選手の1人として評価されているプテジャスだが、女子ユーロ2022の開幕を目前に控えた中、残念なニュースが入った。

スペイン女子代表の中心選手としての活躍が期待されていた中、5日のトレーニング中に負傷。ヒザを痛めてロンドンのキングエドワード7世病院で検査。左ヒザ前十字靭帯(ACL)の断裂と診断された。

8日にフィンランド女子代表との初戦を戦うはずだった中での悲報。ユーロを戦うことができなくなってしまった。

プテジャスはスペイン女子代表として100試合出場を達成しており、これは史上最多の記録に。初の100試合出場選手となった。なお、30ゴールを決めている。

初のメジャー大会制覇を目指していたスペイン女子代表にとっては大打撃。キャプテンを開幕直前で失った中、どのような戦いを見せるだろうか。1年後には女子ワールドカップも控えているだけに、早期復帰を願うばかりだ。

「監督の解任は求めてない」ゴタゴタのスペイン女子代表、監督解任要求と協会が発表もキャプテンが反対声明「気まぐれや脅迫ですると思う?」
